BEWARE of the books "Conversations with GOD" and "Conversations with GOD for Teens"

Beware of this book! Oprah and schools are pushing it. It is scary that someone would be bold enough to write a book from God's point of view contrary to His Word. Please send this warning to all with kids or…

Cities, counties, schools adjusting for new budget realities

Noting many of the other city, counties and schools are cutting their budgets so they do not have to raise taxes because they are recognizing the economic downturn (except of course our fair city unless Tuesday night brings a change of heart by our city council)

Cities, counties, schools try to balance spending and shrinking…

Jacksonville bus drivers, JTA plan four-day session to try and avoid strike

This is another union, so let's hope the city makes a wise choice about what is acceptable for the taxpayers.

Plan would clear up confusion, calm tempers over Jacksonville libraries

No mention of whether the taxpayers will be expected to feed and cloth these 2 new members with tax payer dollars? I also disagree with the library not having to account for donations to the library. I think donations should come right off any funding by the city. They are not a separate entity but part of the City of Jacksonville and funded by the taxpayer.

Concerns centered on too much influence by City…

JEA.............Jacksonville utility's energy-saving plan gets state OK

This very much looks like the global warming bug working it's way into all state utility companies to me and redistribution as well which is the actual reason for all the global warming chatter any way. At least I thought it was gutsy of them to point out they were a taxpayer owned utility etc. Have enlarged that area so it is easy to find!

Six weeks before the election, President Obama couldn’t fill the ballroom at the Roosevelt Hotel

My joy at reading this is almost uncontained. Bout time :).

Six weeks before the election, President Obama couldn’t fill the ballroom at the Roosevelt Hotel, despite cheap tickets on offer. And then he was met by hecklers.

Who would have thought that six weeks before a cliffhanger election, President Obama would have to reach down to the D…

City leaders making good on promise to share Jags tickets

In case no one has noticed, what Jack Webb said was a lie. They have never given these tickets away except to city employees (this is the first year they are doing this. GRRRRRRRR Are they really allowed to take property (in the form of taxes) away from one person with the express idea of giving it to someone they feel is more deserving of part of your hard earned paycheck????

Opinion in today's paper: Tea Party: Criticism only goes so far

As I feel this writer clearly does not understand the responsibities of our city government and what the tea party is and is about, I thought and do hope some will go in and make comments? We would hardly need city officials if the tea party were responsible for doing their jobs, now would we? A link taking you to this opinion letter at bottom of opinion.

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
