Admiral James “Ace” Lyons, USN Ret., and Rear Admiral Charles Kubic, USN Ret., will be among the guest speakers at a special memorial tribute to the four Americans killed in the Benghazi attack on Sept. 11, 2012. The public is invited to attend this special service.
Organized by the First Coast Tea Party, the memorial tribute will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11, at the Salem Centre, located at 7235 Bonneval Road in Jacksonville. In addition to musical selections performed by local patriotic chorus Let Freedom Sing, the service will include military honors to remember the lives of U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens, information officer Sean Smith and former Navy SEALs Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods, who were killed in the attack.
A special highlight of the memorial service will include remarks from members of the Citizens’ Commission on Benghazi. In addition to commission members Lyons and Kubic, commission member and former CIA agent Clare Lopez and intelligence expert Michael Del Rosso will offer remarks. The emcee for the tribute, Capt. Ryman Shoaf, USN Ret., was a personal friend of the late Ambassador Stevens.
“We are so honored that these distinguished guests are traveling to Jacksonville just to join us for this solemn tribute,” First Coast Tea Party Chairman Carole McManus said. “Their breadth of military and intelligence experience and their determination to uncover the truth played a pivotal role in revealing the facts about what really happened in Benghazi on Sept. 11, 2012.”
