Jacksonville council tentatively approves another property tax hike/Final action 9/28

When you vote for your city councilman or woman next time around, you may wish to consider how they voted on this. Council members Glorious Johnson, Clay Yarborough, Richard Clark, John Crescimbeni and Bill Bishop voted against each of the four bills connected to the budget and tax rate, but the other 13 city council members voted for the tax increase.

Here is something I would certainly ask councilman Webb…

Obama got it right!

Now that I got your attention, let me explain. During the 2008 US Presidential Election, Obama, his campaign staff and Organizing for America were able to amass hundreds even thousands when they needed them. How could this newcomer triumph over his well-know opponent (Hilliary Clinton) in the primaries? The answer is simple and simply put, his supporters took action instead of just talking. Will we as conservatives take action or simply talk?

In the spirit of Organizing for America… Continue

City Council Meeting Last Night

I attended the meeting last night but could not get there until after 5:00pm due to work. I wanted to speak out but did not know the procedure to do so. Is the meeting on Sept 28th to vote on the final bill or will we have a chance to speak again against higher property taxes? Donna

Reviewing 'The FairTax Book' Part 1 - A Little Tax History

So I have decided to take a slightly different approach to my articles. I have found a way that will both help me learn a great deal more about history, economics, and politics, while allowing me to elaborate on what I have learned and try to tie everything in to how our world is today. My first book on the list was The FairTax Book, written by Neal Boortz and John Linder. This book came out back in 2003 and I originally read it back in 2006 when I was first starting to get…

Please Attend City Council Meeting Tonight: Don't Raise our Taxes

Hello Tea Party members: I am out of town speaking at a conference on behalf of the tea party movement. I am in a hotel in Ohio that has only liberal stations and no Fox. It also has 5 stations in Arabic. Our carrier in Jacksonville does not have these stations so it was interesting to see them.

I…

My take on the Washington march

My son Mike and I made it to the Washington area Saturday night and set off early Sunday for the march on the capitol. As Billie comented, the crowd was not nearly as large as last year and I fel certain the liberal media will eat that up but there was one wonderful ray of sunshine in the day that I noticed. There were many more blacks participating and these were not counter protesters, they were wearing Tea Party t-shirts. I commend every one of them for their courage. It takes lots of…

Washington D.C. Trip

Wow, am I tired, I was on the whirlwind bus trip.

We left Jacksonville Saturday night, drove all through the night, and arrived in Washington DC at 9:00 AM.

I don't think anyone got any sleep, we were all so excited.

We met up at the Washington monument, then we caught up with the dock.

The march down Pennsylvania is something I will never forget.

We arrived in front of the Capitol building around 12:00, as the crowd assembled, I could tell this would be an…

Billie's Blog: "Family" Reunion in DC

Well the March on DC was a renewing and energetic experience. Once again Patriots from across America came together to send a message to Washington that We the People are not Happy.

This year there were 3 events going on across the country at the same time. That decision was made because Glenn Beck had an event 2 weeks ago and many people could not travel again. Even though it was less in numbers than last year, there were still MANY people here and the energy in the air was…

BILLIE'S BLOG: TODAY WE MARCH

Yesterday was a beautiful day in DC. The weather was remarkable and the sky was as blue as it was on the day terrorists attacked us on 9/11. My favorite speech at the 9/11 Memorial service yesterday in front of the Washington Monument, was from a retired Lieutenant of the New York Fire Department. He told stories about some of his men who died that day. The stories were moving because they were personal and real and the people were real too! He reminisced about their lives, their career…

Drives me crazy that so many forget we were attacked...........the hypocrisy of burning the Qur'an and enraging the very ones

whose religion cold bloodedly killed over three-thousand US citizens and tore the heart out of our way of life is certainly more significant then the infinitesimal act of burning a Qur'an . If the Islamics get so ticked about burning the Qur'an how about the country that lost so much in their cowardly attack going ballistic on anything to do with the source of that attack.

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
