Is there a Bad Moon Rising over America?

As the computer readied for another day of activism, I wondered what the headlines would carry or what action items we would need to undertake.  Our job is to educate our members about the issues and keep them motivated to contact their representatives.  Someone has to do it and I guess that’s you and me and all our buddies in this movement. 

 

As I pour myself my first cup of coffee, I suddenly hear this Creedence Clearwater song in my head “I see the bad moon arising, I see trouble on the way.  I see earthquakes and lightning, I see bad times today.”   I am reminded of listening to this with my guy in his ’69 Camaro cruising down the road to the beach for a look at the moon and some other things we’ll not discuss here.  The windows were down as we sped along Beach Boulevard, the salt air was warm on our faces and this song played on WAPE, a popular AM radio station.  The words meant something different then than they do now.  They were lighter and fun and today, they are ominous. 

 

I sigh and think, “I wish I could go back in time.”  But that was then and this is now.  This is our time and our place in history.  Like those who have gone before us, it is our time to stand in the gap as an American patriot and do our part to protect and save Liberty.

 

It doesn’t matter if a bad moon does rise over America, He is the one who put it there and He is the one who will take care of us.  He was there in the beginning and He will be there in the end.

Another action item (which has been reported in an excellent manner by Roma and Tom Cox throughout the last two weeks on FCTP):  the House caved and voted to extend the unconstitutional Patriot Act.  Call Nelson and Rubio today and tell them to vote against the extension of this Act which tramples upon our freedoms.

I've already written my national and state representatives this morning. I reminded them that if they cannot learn to govern responsibly and by the "consent of the people", then just like this past November, we'll be glad to help them out the door next election.  And I have already reposted a couple of these news items on Facebook this morning.  I have friends on Facebook from around the country. I want to make sure that this info goes out far and wide. Thanks Billie!

Thank you for all these links.  As always, I will pass them on to friends and family, and will email and make phone calls myself too.  We have to keep supporting those who are fighting for America so they know they are not alone.  It is astonishing that we are having to fight against the damage that is being done methodically and with great determination and aggression by our own president.  I heard a while ago that Obama and the progressives were working to make the Legislative branch of the US government irrelevant.  It is now quite obvious that they are also doing that with the Judiciary branch by totally ignoring judicial rulings (for example, ban on deep water drilling and unconstitutionality of Obamacare), and with State governments as well by circumventing the actions of governors, attornies general, state legislatures, and even bringing lawsuits against the states themselves.  Debbie's comment below is correct - we have to choose which side we are on, and as always, you are correct, Billie - we have to act as well.

Great post Billie.It is hard to keep up with everything isn't it? I've wrote Governer Scott with my support almost everyday this week and have written Bill Nelson with my displeasure on his stance everyday as well.I know when I am feeling overwhelmed I just step back and say to myself,"one thing at a time!" I make sure that I accomplish my first task before I set out on another.That way I don't feel so overloaded.

I feel as if there have been two separate worlds juxtaposed and depending on your perspective you were only able to see one of them. However, now the screen separating them has ripped and everyone is going to be faced with a difficult decision, which world will you choose?
We have been safe in our own worldview, living our lives, watching our children grow, and preparing for the future, but a new reality is knocking at our door. Do we answer the door and face this head on or dismiss it like the occasional salesman’s knock? What will you do?
