Wash. Times 24/7: President signs executive order to control fracking

Obama is at it again with yet another executive order. I would wonder if he can be stopped from interfering with these businesses. We all know what his interference will do to the price of gas (and since he is on the government tit, he could care less about the rest of us).

Hot Air: Dodd-Frank costs US financial sector 24 million man-hours per year for compliance

And more from Washington, DC, the regulation capital of the world. We can all thank all those elected officials in Washington who approved this behemoth bill that will cripple the banking industry and cause a loss of jobs...................................  The bill will take more man hours to comply with than the hours required to build the Panama Canal, but since we have a president who has never really had a real job and a whole group of democratic politicians who have never…

TU: Seaside park users descend on Jacksonville City Council committee today with complaints

Folks are not liking the park closing 2 hours earlier than it used to (due to budget constraints largely).

Beach access advocates plan on complaining en masse today at a Jacksonville City Council committee about limited hours at two ocean side parks.

The council’s Recreation and Community…

TU: Group: Next Duval superintendent needs proven record on urban schools

Glad to see the Times Union making this a daily update to let everyone know what is going on with the choice of a new Duval School Superintendent.   The school board is involving all stake holders in this process which could result in a choice that meets with everyone's approval.

TU: Jacksonville general employee pension administrators ousted

This appears to be more about the current law suit where some folks had to sign up for social security than anything else, but you judge.

Rueters: Buffett rule fails Senate vote in tax fight

It's going to hard to blame this one on the republicans, but given this administration's propensity to blame all that happens on others and mostly republicans, I am sure they will try anyway!  I would guess some of the folks, of Mr. Obama party, are thinking about re-election just now or maybe are even bright enough to understand this tax increase would have hurt the economy by taking money away from small business owners.  Personally, I understand, not one dime of this proposed…

New York Times: Obama Backers Tied to Lobbies Raise Millions

Lobbys and lobbyists are prominent in the Obama administration and have clout.  Another promise broken and certainly not changing the environment in Washington as promised heah?  A quote in the article says it all as lobbyists feel it an insult they might be limited "The administration, it said, appears to view lobbyists as predators and federal employees as “weak, unprincipled victims.”  After the recent GSA boon doggle, I would say the quote is about right as far as federal…

Response from the Governor's Office on Bill HB 7117 Energy Bill

I thought you might be interested in the response some of us got from the Governor's office on HB 7117.  Although he did not sign it, he also did not veto the bill, and it automatically became law and will go into effect on July 1, 2012.  It is a horrid bill, and we might want to remember this when we vote in the primaries in August and the General Elections in November.  This bill was touted as a job creator, but the policies are the same as Obama's and we all know how many jobs…

Rasmussen: 73% Think Photo ID Requirement Before Voting Does Not Discriminate

Yet another issue Mr. Obummer and his administration seem to be on the opposite side from the American people!  The poll findings should not come as a surprise though as many articles out there on this issue and most indicate the people do not consider requiring a voter id discriminatory.

TU: Northeast Florida nonprofits rethinking fundraising efforts

I am pleased to see the Children's Commission among those trying to raise funds as I think (and this is totally a personal opinion) the Children's Commission should be a non government not for profit that raises funds for everything it does and should not be getting tax dollars for programs.  Having to do fundraising to fund programs keeps them very cost effective and removes any careless spending (when folks get to thinking the supply of capital is…

TU: Names bandied about for Duval superintendent

I am pleased to see that people, like you and me, are being asked for recommendations, and people's names have been submitted for consideration.  Some of the names are for folks who are already involved in other school systems around the state that have appealing programs.

Administrators are already being mentioned for the superintendent…

National Review: The New Black Panthers’ Unpunished Threats

I can't remember in my life time any administration that refused to uphold the law or charge people when obvious crimes were committed.  What point is there in having laws if the president and the folks appointed to uphold the law and the constitution thumb their noses at the law when it comes to their friends?  As we are finding, the folks in Washington seem to think they have a separate set of laws that cover them while they pass laws that are enforced against the group that is…

WND: Fox News host urges Obama to release transcript

I am hoping everyone may find this as absurd as I find it.  Mr. Obama has recommended that Mr. Romney release his previous tax returns in an effort to be as transparent as possible............this from a person who has spent huge sums of money to hide every single thing about himself including:

"passport records, kindergarten records, high school records, Occidental College records, Columbia University records, his Columbia thesis, Harvard Law Review…

TU: Mayor: Leadership will make difference in developing downtown Jacksonville

Something else the mayor wants total charge of..............I guess if you keep trying sooner or later, you gain control over quite a bit, but I am not sure that's such a good idea.  I am concerned about who will be chosen to run this and for how much to be quite truthful and how much more money they will want to flush through the downtown...........especially since it is our money they are doing the flushing with.  Your opinion?…

CNS: Obama: 'That Wild-Eyed, Socialist, Tax-Hiking Class Warrior Was Ronald Reagan' (the fib of the day)

You certainly have to give Obama credit.  When he tells a whopper, it really is one and this one is actually more than one.  First of all, Reagan closed loop holes and then, he LOWERED taxes for everyone.  The reason the IRS got more money is that companies did well and paid more taxes for that reason.  Secondly, he claims, then, they will pay as much as middle class Americans (and many of them pay no taxes at all or those taxes they do pay in are returned to them).   Shame,…

TU: Red-light camera firm in talks with Jacksonville has been kicked out of other cities

Rear end collision increased, because people stop short when they light goes yellow or red instead of doing what is safe and going through the intersection.  They know the camera lights are there and afaid they will get a pocket full of tickets, so instead we have tons of accidents and people hurt...............what an improvement huh?  But heah I guess we can look forward to cameras in our bedrooms before this is all done with and these snoopy money grubbing elected officials stop spending…

Article about the title  issue and below that 3 items our city council has taken action on already.  Note the change to the number of precincts Jerry Holland had asked for!  How do you feel about this group the mayor wants??   Do you think it will help the downtown or do you see it as just another way to spend money we don't have?

Washington Times: OLSEN: Dangers of academia’s ‘indoctrination mills’

I think we all know this is happening and know how dangerous this is for our country...............we have student brain washing at all levels in the school system and it needs to be stopped and reversed back to teaching about our economic system, our history and our founding documents.  That the far left is using tax payer funded public schools to brain wash our children is insane and that they are allowed to do so is even worse.…

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.
