God and Country

from my blog at http://theatleeappeal.com

We will be hearing about Glenn Beck’s “Restoring Honor” rally up to the midterm elections. The message he and the rest of the speakers had for the nearly half-a-million attendees was pretty clear: Return to the roots that made America great. Whether some people want to believe it or not, America has been the greatest social experiment in the history of mankind. Never before has a nation…

My concerns with Alex Sink

Since my informational posts seemed to draw some controversy I decided to put my concerns about Alex Sink into a blog post instead for everyone to read whenever they wish.

First off, some key words jumped out at me from her website that all leftists use frequently. Phrases like "giving back "to the community (as if the wealth you earn by your own hard work is somehow stolen from the "less fortunate" and must be returned) and "fairness" which is a commonly…

Glen Beack vs. Al Sharpton Rally

You wonder, sometimes, what rock people crawl out from under.

I today's, Rants and Raves in the Times Union, a person was asking how Glen Beck can hold a "TEA PARTY" on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, and who paid for it.

If I am not blind, I did not see any connection with the "TEA PARTY" nor anything to do with racism.

This was about "Restoring honor and our founding…

NRA Warns Against New Gun Control Push ... From EPA

Hmmmm, Obama is worried about poisoning animals people are hunting for food. Doesn't there seem to be something wrong with the rational of the EPA (Obama) argument. Does to me, but then, really all he wants to do is override the 2nd amendment once again and take control of something else or should I say disarm the American people. And of course, that can not be allowed to happen. Better start buying ammo everyone.

NRA Warns Against New…

Immigration in America: Dream or Nightmare?

In the late 1800’s and the early 1900’s, many immigrants came to America from Europe looking for a better life than the life they were living in their home country. Once here, they willingly stood in long lines at Ellis Island in New York while being documented as they entered. They knew that in making this commitment to come to America, they were pledging to uphold the laws of the United States, they were pledging to learn the language of their new home and they were pledging to support…

Some Thoughts On Class Warfare

There is a plague of economic populism emanating from the political left these days. More than ever we are seeing class warfare used as a weapon to pit the "Haves" against the "Have-Nots", the "rich" vs. the "poor" and the middle class. Democrats are the main practitioners of this ugliness, but Republicans aren't totally immune to it's allure. Florida Governor Charlie Crist has "taken on big insurers" repeatedly as part of his platform because he's "The People's… Continue

A View Into The Current Political Scene

I refer you to an article in REDSTATE that is "real clear". The following sets up the REDSTATE article in the link below.

"The movement" that starts the second paragraph refers to the conservative movement as the author explains later. NEWSMAX thinks McCollum lost to Scott's money. The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) backs the incumbent Republicans and has worked against the winners in the Florida primary. John Cornyn of TX is taking a team to Alaska to help the incumbent… Continue

Liberty Central CEO & Founder Ginni Thomas Kicks Off Steamboat Institute's Second Annual Freedom Conference

Our Washington, DC partner, Ginni Thomas, founder and CEO of Liberty Central, will be the kickoff speaker at the Steamboat Institute's 2010 Freedom Conference today, Friday, August 27. In her address, Ginni will explain why Americans need to decide, and quickly, whether they will be self-governed or ruled. For those that choose the former, she will outline seven habits to help citizen patriots save what is great about our country. The text of her speech will be posted to LibertyCentral.org…

Grandfather Clause History

Good job Mick on the history of the term "Grandfather Clause" or "Grandfathered" in....... we have all used it over the years not knowing the true origin..... ironic that the Dems used it first but for a totally opposite of the reason it is used today, which useally means "including" rather "excluding".

Claim: GOP is "Irresponsible Opposition Party"?

from my blog at http://theatleeappeal.com

I really do enjoy reading articles from people with opposing view points. They are hilarious. I’m sure those who have deep liberal convictions feel the same way about my views. Such is life. Real Clear Politics, one of my favorite sources of opinion articles, had one today where liberal commentator Ruth Marcus pinned the GOP as “irresponsible”. Her opinion. My opportunity to set a liberal…

It Is Not Politics As Usual Anymore.

Over the last two months NEWSMAX has been pushing McCollum for the Republican candidate for governor. They were pushing hard so I sent them an email stating that they were backing a RINO and I intend to vote for a conservative, Rick Scott. They had stated in an earlier post that Bill McCollum was the only one that could beat the Democrat candidate. In the meantime a number of prominent Republicans lined up behind

McCollum.…

The "Grandfather" Clause

I recently watched a movie called “Posse” with Mario Van Peebles and all in all, it was a pretty good movie. It was about a group of mostly black cowboys in the late 1800’s “taking care” of the bad guys who they felt had wronged them. They were kind of bad guys too, but at least they were likable. One of the themes running through the movie was “Education Makes You Free.” I thought that was kind of interesting and found it to be especially relevant today. Just before the credits started to…

Congratulations "Insurgent Republicans" !!

It's no exaggeration to say that we have a country to save, and last night was an amazing start! A few weeks back I heard CNN describe Marco Rubio and Rick Scott as "Insurgent Republicans", five minutes after they described Taliban terrorists as "insurgent forces." That tells you what leftists think of us conservatives!

"Insurgent Republicans" Rick Scott (Florida) and Joe Miller (Alaska) highlighted a primary election night that should serve as a…

THESE VOICES DON'T SPEAK FOR US

Last night we watched as the voices of the people were heard from all over Florida.

The best part about living in America is the fact that we do retain power over elitists IF we will engage our power at the polls. For those of you who were able to do so yesterday, you made a difference.

Maybe your candidate won and maybe your candidate lost. We know how it feels to win and lose and, of course, people like to be on the winning side. At this point, we are hopeful…

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
