Claim: GOP is "Irresponsible Opposition Party"?

from my blog at http://theatleeappeal.com

I really do enjoy reading articles from people with opposing view points. They are hilarious. I’m sure those who have deep liberal convictions feel the same way about my views. Such is life. Real Clear Politics, one of my favorite sources of opinion articles, had one today where liberal commentator Ruth Marcus pinned the GOP as “irresponsible”. Her opinion. My opportunity to set a liberal straight.

But let’s look at a couple quotes. John Boehner claims correctly that Obama wants to raise the taxes of those making over $250,000 a year: The business owners. Ruth then claims, “Treating taxpayers differently is inherent in the nature of a progressive tax code. Does Boehner oppose that?” – Yes, us conservatives are adamantly opposed to a progressive tax code. The Communist Manifesto concluded that a progressive tax code was imperative for communism to work. Granted, we have had a progressive income tax now for nearly 100 years, but you can see first hand the dangers of such. Progressive tax codes redistribute wealth from the achievers to non-achievers. This ensures class warfare. Once a party has shifted the tax burden to where over half the population does not pay taxes (progressive tax code), that party has all but secured the votes of a majority of the citizens. That is the biggest danger of a progressive tax code.

Next up: “Meanwhile, the myth of small business as the engine of job creation is largely that — a myth. Small businesses create new jobs when they start and take off; they also lose jobs when they crash and burn.” I guess Wal Mart, Google, Apple, and such just appeared out of thin air as massive companies. Ruth obviously does not pay attention to statistics. These are all from the US Department of Commerce in 2007: 1) Small businesses have generated 64% of all new net job growth in the last 15 years. 2) Small businesses employ just over half of ALL workers. 3) Small businesses hire 40 percent of high tech workers. Yeah, so much for that myth of small businesses and jobs.

One more: “Boehner doesn’t want to extend the tax cuts temporarily, he wants to make them permanent. And that is a disaster for the deficit.” Maybe temporarily if there is no reduction in spending. This is the favorite argument among liberals against extending the tax cuts. Most Republicans that are arguing to extend the tax cuts are screaming at the top of their lungs to reduce the insane explosion of government spending. The real disaster would be if these tax cuts are not extended and all rates, or even just those in the top bracket, go up. Whether those in the wealth envy crowd will admit it or not, people who make over $250,000 a year are your job creators. If more money is taken out of their pocket, how on earth do you expect them to expand their businesses or payrolls? Like I love to say, you must lack common sense to be a liberal.

But to say the GOP is an irresponsible opposition party is just lunacy. Obama’s policies that he has signed into office or attempted to sign into office are so far left that the only thing bipartisan about them is the number of House Democrats who vote no. Every single one of his major legislative accomplishments are unpopular with the majority of Americans. The citizens are being very vocal about what they want to see out of their government. The Republican party is simply trying to echo the wishes of their bosses – us. The liberal elites such as Obama, Reid, and Pelosi do not care. Americans did not want the health care bill but it was shoved down our throats. We did not want the financial reform bill and it was shoved down our throats. We were mostly in favor of Arizona’s immigration bill and they were attacked by the liberal elites. Americans know that the stimulus was an utter failure, yet the liberal elites continue to tell us it has worked and that this is the “Summer of recovery”. Americans know that the size of our debt is a huge danger to the stability of this great nation, yet the liberal elites ignore it and continue to pile on the red. So who exactly is the “irresponsible” party?

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
