QUOTE OF THE CENTURY, MAYBE EVEN THE MILLENNIUM
Some people have the vocabulary to sum things up in a way you can understand them. This quote came from the Czech Republic. Someone over there has it figured out. We have a lot of work to do.
"The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far…

It was one of those mornings. I was awakened by the sound of thunder and flashes of lightning piercing the darkness of the room. It was 4:30 and I didn’t want to get up. As I laid there watching the window light up and the booming sounds of thunder, I was taken back to my childhood. …

'I would like to address and suggest that the small business group allow its members and participants the opportunity to share with its members and all of the other FCTP members some information pertaining to the type of businesses that each one is involved with. Sharing this information and identifying the who, what and where will allow fellow members to consider them for their personal and professional needs. You share many common concerns which has lead you to become a member of the FCTP. …

What are you going to be doing on Tuesday, Nov 6, 2012? You may not have it marked on your calendar yet but I’ll bet mentally you are saying “That is the day we vote conservative Americans into elected office and vote President Obama out!”. I’ll bet you are firmly committed to that action. Are you going to do anything between now and Nov. 6, 2012, to help conservatives get elected?
If you are from Jacksonville, you just got “shellacked” in the mayoral election by the national…

There has been a large group of tea party members who have stood with Carla Miller on the issue of the Ethics Commission.
There is a victory here and we wanted to thank those in the tea party who stood up and did something about this important issue. You are all great patriots and a great example to what it will take to make a difference in our city, state and union...Standing up and getting…

This post may be a day late for Flag Day, but it's never too late to be reminded of the heritage and history of our great flag. I received an email from a friend yesterday afternoon late with the following message about the flag and wanted to share it with you all. How blessed we re to be able to freely fly our flag and say the pledge. We must continue to stand strong, as our flag has over these many years, to protect what we believe in.
SENSE OF HERITAGE - TODAY IS FLAG…

I am concerned that the main stream media will dictate the terms in our selection of a good elect able candidate for president in 2012. Last night’s debate questions seemed to be aimed at those litmus issues over which a president has little control; issues such as abortion and gay rights and gays in the military. The real issues that must be brought to the forefront and openly discussed should be what are we going to do about unemployment, onerous federal…

I am high in the sky flying home from New Hampshire after last night's Presidential debate. What a wonderful experience it was for me personally and even more so for the tea party members.
Last night we saw a renewed sense of love for America and the values we stand for. Prior to the event starting at 8:00 we had a pre-program session where we learned how the evening would work with the production team. We also were welcomed to the debate by the university President and heard…

I watched, very intently, last nights Presidential candidates debate, every time the tv cameras panned the audience I looked for our beloved Billie.
Finally a 2 second flash, there she was in all her glory, looking very absorbed, with the debate.
It was a very good snapshot of the various candidates.
In my opinion, Mitt Romney did very well, so did Michele Bachman, and I was impressed with Herman Cain.
I know Billie will be back home soon, filled with renewed…

I got off the plane, picked up my bag and stepped outside to meet up with my ride to the hotel. I was not expecting the blast of cold air that hit me and immediately caused shivers that served as the opening conversation with the driver.
Reminder to self...check the weather before your journey and throw a sweater in your bag just in case. Always be PREPARED.
I arrived in Manchester, New Hampshire for tomorrow night's Presidential Debate. Florida will be the host…

Howard Troxler is retiring from the St Pete Times this weekend. He has been a voice for Floridians for many years. His willingness to represent working Floridians interests as a journalist is unparalleled.
This story reflects one of the last issues he took on before retiring. These leadership funds are toxic to our state government. These guys should be responsive to their constituents, not leadership that has its own agenda, securing leadership fund…

In case anyone is under the delusion the city council can appoint and micro manage the ethics commission, you need to read this opinion piece written by an attorney who served on the Jacksonville Ethics Commission for 3 years and what he encountered. I have also included an opinion piece supported by all the heirachy at the Times Union in support of a strong independent ethics commission and could not agree with them more.
