TU: Jacksonville councilman calls building inspector nominee 'misleading'

Are we considering privatizing this????

Gaffney is suspicious of the inspection candidate's answers.

TU: Jaguars could get another chance at Tim Tebow

Could not help myself on this one.  I just love this guy, and what a thought to have him as a Jaguar.............imagine we might actually WIN some games with Tebow as quarterback, increase participation and the wonderful things this fine young man would bring to our city.  And Khan indicates he would have drafted him in 2010 (those in charge chose not to at that time), so there is hope!

Manning picks Denver; Khan has no comment on former…

TU: Duval courthouse cuts draw critics' fire

Trim away Mayor Brown...........this behemoth has already cost way more money than it ever should have been allowed to! Any one out there think the city should continue plowing money into our extravagant new court house?????  We can only hope that future projects will not also have a budgeted cost of $350 MILLION.

The chief financial officer says plans for trimming spending are not finalized…

Mychal Massie: They’re Not Telling Us The Truth

Mychal Massie is unafraid of the issues, and he writes another commentary that may shed light on the real reasons for a resurgence of serious illnesses and diseases in our country.  I believe he may be on the right track.  Your thoughts?

20 March 2012

I argue that the reason we are seeing an explosion in drug resistant illnesses, that long ago we had brought under control and in many instances eliminated, is the uncontrolled influx of illegal aliens into this…

Washington Times 24/7: Tom Hanks tells $25 billion whopper for Obama

And the campaign lies begin (that would be different from most of the false statements made as a regular thing up until now).

The Obama 2012 campaign has released a short film called “The Road We’ve Traveled,” detailing the challenges faced by President Barack Obama’s administration from day one through the start of the campaign.

But it’s not all roses for team Obama: Part of the film contains a gross inaccuracy. Specifically, it claims that…

WSJ: The Pope's Cuba Gamble...............Religious persecution at it's worst

The way things are going in our own country right now, you may wish to read this very carefully.   This is what a totalitarian dictator is really like once they have eliminated everything we, as Americans, consider to be American and our rights which were bought and paid for by the spilled blood of many.  It won't matter to the little dictator in the white house, but it may matter to you, your children and your grandchildren when they live under the kind of conditions some of…

News Press: Editorial: Gov. Scott looking like a leader

Very nice write up by a Florida newspaper that supported Alex Sink in the last governor's race...................so you have to know Scott is doing the really good job if they are now touting him (as we all knew he would!).

After two legislative sessions and a little more than a year in office, Rick Scott has come a long way toward proving skeptics wrong.

Gov. Scott's scorecard

• Plan to revamp teacher evaluations…

Reuters: Four shot dead at French Jewish school

What sane person attacks little children no matter their faith?  This is horrendous.

TU: On recession's vacant lots, Jacksonville-area gardeners hope to set roots in city's land

Well, I guess it's better than leaving these lots sitting their doing nothing in addition to being off the tax roles (so we have to make up the difference).  What are your thoughts?

TU: Alvin Brown signs bills funding Jacksonville's new ethics office, recognizing director

Finally, these bills were passed, and Carla Miller is the new director after months of doing the job "free" of charge after quitting her job (because she felt so strongly about the need for an ethics commission in our city).  This is one very committed lady!

The Florida Rattle Tale: Priest: Why is Obama so Intent on Destroying Catholic Ministries? He’s a Socialist

Our religious freedom is under attack by this president.  Totally shameful and totally unAmerican.

Priests and deacons are now being allowed, or perhaps even encouraged, to speak to their parishes about the obamacare mandate that will force Catholics to violate their moral consciences.

Obama is treading on thin ice. Attacking the Catholic community in an election year is not a wise move!

Obama cannot take the Catholic vote for granted. In the presidential…

Your Jewish News: Jewish dentist fired because he will offend Muslims.

Since when is a person's religion something one considers when hiring them for a job or firing them from a job?  We must stop actions like this totally!  This must be addressed, and I am hoping some of the citizens reading about this travesty will take appropriate action.

A dentist said in a federal lawsuit he was fired from a job at a Dearborn, Mich., dental office because he is…

WND: Executive-order panic: Martial law in U.S.? White House quietly releases document that creates widespread worry

Balance is important, and I have posted another article about this that claims the executive order in question allows for peacetime martial law, so I must also post an opposing view if there is one and there is.  This is it.  I read through the EO and could believe either of the articles could be right depending on how the person in the oval office viewed them, and we already know everything usually get expanded beyond it's meaning anyway, so you will have to decide how you think…

The Blaze: Obama Crack About Former President May Not Line Up With the Facts

The truth of all statements should be checked as it is very important when coming from the mouth of anyone in a high position in our country. The information put out to the public in general must always be accurate or anything they say could be considered erroneous over time.  This is another example of Obama not getting his facts right..............shameful for any person holding the highest office in the land.

WND: St. Pat's Day massacre of religious liberty; Obama expands contraception insurance mandate to Catholic university students

Another very serious violation of the constitution by our "now" dictator in the white house.

In other words, if a Catholic university like Notre Dame offers students insurance plans, those plans must also, after a one-year transition period, include birth control coverage, despite Catholic doctrine to the contrary.

Jeanne Monahan, director of the Center for Human Dignity at the Family Research Council, blasted the news as a “profound violation…

The White House: Executive Order -- National Defense Resources Preparedness; Obama Executive Order: Peacetime Martial Law Signed Yesterday

Gives the government the right to take over all private industry in peace time (not war time.............).  Totally unconstitutional.  This is not an acceptable action no matter who tries to implement it.    This is certainly not about national defence..........that is the guise used to try to make it legal......., it is about total government control of everything and turning us into a communist country.

Response letter: Please vote NO on 2012-0070 expenditure of $75,000 on Dog Park

I wanted all of you to see the response, which I understand was a FORM letter, sent to anyone who thought spending $75,000 on a dog park right now, was not a wise thing to do. I have just finished posting the other articles about money we will owe and future plans for the downtown, so I thought everyone might be able to get their arms around what Councilman Lumb was saying in his response, because it is quite telling and basically says he knows best, this was and is a good idea…

TU: Jacksonville to participate in IBM Smarter Cities grant to focus on downtown development

Hang on to your wallets guys.  These folks may be "free" but I am betting the plan they come up with won't be for the residents and tax payers of Duval County.  I would think, right now, we might have bigger problems than trying to fix the downtown (which many may remember has been in the works for well over the 25 years we have lived here...............and so far, they have spent millions and there is nothing much down there and everything looks pretty much the same).  The only…

TU: Jacksonville's KIPP school ready to pay students a little cash for FCAT scores

I can't even say how insane this sounds to me...............nothing more but another entitlement started and used on the youngest folks to get them on the path to expecting money from the government for everything.  Ludicrous!  Comments please.

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
