Well, the worst has happened.  The city council voted themselves in charge of selecting members for the ethics commission and giving the mayor a choice and approval for the director as well.  This basically ends any real prospect of a true ethics commission at all since we now have the wolves in charge of the hen house, and I fully expect to see them seat their friends and companions on the commission to stop anything meaningful from being unconvered or pursued.  People must stand up to this, and I would wonder we don't all write to our state ethics officials and complain that they are trying to overturn this commission (which they never wanted to start with..........gee I wonder why???).   There must be something we can do to roll this back and the means needs to be found.  Here is the article in the TU.
