Trump's High Poll: He Tells it Like it Is

Why is Donald Trump polling so well in Republican presidential candidate polls? Is there a lesson for the Republican field? Trump is certainly a successful businessman having made billions in real estate and done well in TV entertainment. But Mayor of NY Mike Bloomberg is a billionaire and was never a factor as a presidential candidate even when he was a Republican. Trump has some conservative values, but it is not certain that he is reliably conservative on all key issues. Trump is certainly no policy wonk. So what is it about Trump that voters like? I believe that Trump's aggressive and very public questions about the Obama birth certificate, and Trump's belligerent attacks on Obama's reckless spending have energized the base. By comparison, Romney, another front runner, seems wimpy. I believe that the Republican base wants to see a little fire in their candidate and Trump is a flame thrower. When the Republican challenger is in the ring with Obama, we'd like to see him throw a few good punches-like Trump is doing now.

Good points. I was just saying that those candidates for president who would cut budgets, increase business opportunities and conform to the Constitution need to speak with eloquence and passion. They don't need to act like Casper Milquetoast.
