Put the TEA in First!

Today is the first working day of the New Year and I wish all of you great blessings and fortune in 2011. 

I was surfing the internet to see what crazy new legislation might be “brewing” out there (check out this one about Harry Reid changing the rules of the game in the Senate to rewrite the November 2 defeat:  http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=40859).  I came across an interesting article about how to properly brew tea.  You can find it at http://www.slate.com/id/2279601/

The article was funny because you could tell the author was dead serious about the proper way to brew hot tea.  I read with interest the reasons why the bag should be placed in the cup first and why the water should follow at a very hot temperature.  It made sense and I can’t wait to brew some tea in the proper manner.

By now you know I watch for signs, signals or hidden meanings to everything in life.  I find it fun and it helps me make it through the day as I watch and listen for heavenly help.  This article was screaming – “there’s a message here!”

The message I took away is this:

Article said:  “It's quite common to be served a cup or a pot of water, well off the boil, with the tea bags lying on an adjacent cold plate.  Then comes the ridiculous business of pouring the tepid water, dunking the bag until some change in color occurs, and eventually finding some way of disposing of the resulting and dispiriting tampon surrogate.”

Take away message:  The tea party movement may be pushed to the sidelines, like the adjacent cold plate, as the new Congress is sworn in this week.  They may pull us in for little meetings, press conferences or photo opportunities to give the appearance of change in attitude (as the article indicates change in color) and will eventually find some way of disposing of us so they can go about their business as usual. 

Article said:  “Whereas tea is a herb (or an herb if you insist) that has been thoroughly dried. In order for it to release its innate qualities, it requires to be infused. And an infusion, by definition, needs the water to be boiling when it hits the tea. Grasp only this, and you hold the root of the matter.”

Take away message:  Herbs add flavor and in some cultures, spiritual value to foods and medicine.  Infused means to:  “cause something to be better.”  The Tea Party Movement has brought a new taste of liberty and freedom back to DC and we have caused things to be better – note November 2.  If the Tea Party Movement had not risen up, where ladies and gentlemen would this great country be right now?  What would it be?  How would we function under our Constitution with the likes of progressives ruining its’ foundation?  As the article says “Grasp only this, and you hold the root of the matter.” 

Article said:  “But this above all: "[O]ne should take the teapot to the kettle, and not the other way about. The water should be actually boiling at the moment of impact, which means that one should keep it on the flame while one pours."

Take away message:  The Tea Party Movement must stay hot and the flame should never die or liberty will.  “Liberty is always one generation away from extinction,” said Ronald Reagan.

Article said:  “Finally, a decent cylindrical mug will preserve the needful heat and flavor for longer than will a shallow and wide-mouthed—how often those attributes seem to go together—teacup.”

Take away message:  The definition for “cylinder” – a cone whose apex is at infinity.    America and its’ foundational principles created the highest of highs of all nations over all time.  We need it to remain there and not become “a shallow and wide-mouthed teacup” which describes the progressives, their agendas and their words.

Article:  “Insist on seeing the tea put in first, and on making sure that the water is boiling. If there are murmurs or sighs from behind you, take the opportunity to spread the word. And try it at home, with loose tea and a strainer if you have the patience.”

Take away message:  Stay the course.  Insist that the new Congress puts the tea party movement in first and make sure they remain hot to trot on the issues that brought them there!  Repeal and defund anything that was passed in this last Congress that takes away our liberties.  If people begin to tire of us or sigh and wish us out of the way – spread the word.  Don’t let them get away with it.  Tell others the truth, spread the message of the tea party movement and begin at home by teaching your children, your friends, your co-workers and your community that LiberTEA is still hot and brewing all across this land! 

To keep it so will mean all of us must do our part and have the patience to continue to stand and brew tea all over this land!

Crazy article, I know, but it is the First Monday of the New Year and what better to write about than the one thing that changed America for the better – a big cylinder of hot tea brewed by great American patriots who by the way are probably direct ancestors of the original ones from the Boston Tea Party!  Now how cool is that hot tea?

Happy New Year to all my fellow patriots. It has been a inspiring year for me. I have found hope and a renewed belief in the spirit of the American people. We the people delivered a message on November 2nd that was felt in every political office in Washington. I believe it was heard by all that hold office there. Unfortunately some there do not believe that the message has the fortitude to withstand the test of time. For those I hope that thought will bring political peril. We must keep the water boiliing in the proverbial pot for us to be victorious. We have won the battle but not the war, we must continue to take the fight to those who refuse to honor their office by not serving the people. That being said, I for one would like to thank you Billie and all of those who have been in the trenches with you leading this movement for your faithful dedication and labor to the serve the people of this nation. As a veteran I must say that you and all Americans like you honor those who are serving and that have served this country on battlefields around the world and throughout history. God bless you and God bless America.

Welcome Carol!  Can you come by the office Wednesday and show me how to brew a real cup of tea?  I'm heading to SC to speak at a conference with a bunch of GOP leaders and I want to show them how to "infuse the tea party" into their way of thinking.  I thought brewing tea would be a good way to do that.

Awesome!  Great 1st day start!  I just joined a few days ago for the very reasons you highlight.  I was amazed at the dedication and energy of the Tea Party members over the past couple of years.  I started out a skeptic, worn out by meaningless rhetoric as I watched my beloved USA jump the tracks like a run away train.  Now I see that there really is hope...there really is people who have the spirit and determination of our forefathers and I want to be part of a genuine movement to bring back our country... and, by the way I was raised in a tea drinking Irish home and I brew a mean cup of tea!
