After conservative tea party darling republican senator Rand Paul won the straw poll a couple of days ago, he immediately  announced that in order for immigration reform to occur it must be supported by conservatives. I always hear republicans criticizing liberals for buying votes and this is pathetic. Does the senator believe that granting amnesty to 12 million or maybe more illegals will somehow make them vote republican?. The problem is that the republicans have very poor communication skills and allow the opposition to define them.

The republican party philosophy is a good one, is the one that could save the republic, but timorous leadership will destroy it. After their self assessment, some geniuses agreed that they need to broaden their appeal to latinos. There is no need to change the party, there is a need to communicate the message!. Mostly all the media is controlled by the liberals cronies and they manipulate the narrative, but the liberals also go where the rubber meets the road; thru teachers in public schools, community activism, etc; they approach legal and illegal immigrants and show them ways to legally and illegally (or unethically) game the system and tell them that republicans don't like them, that they are racists and if they vote for them they will take away their new found freebies.

You need to understand that in the majority of third world countries big government is seen as a good thing, the gap between rich and poor is wide and the government provides subsidies for food, medicine and also housing. there is not a feeling of shame in getting help from the government. Dependance from the government is pervaded in the national psyche like is here now.

This is the end of the republican party, the democrats haven't advanced immigration reform because one big sector of them is against it, one that does a lot of their grass roots: the unions. So they are bamboozling the republicans telling them thats the only way latinos will vote for them.

If there is no immigration reform, democrats will cry is the republicans fault, and if the republicans pass one, democrats will tell the new citizens that they only did it because they needed their votes, not because they like them, because republicans are a bunch of racists after all. So the result is either the republicans anger the latino community or democrats get 10 million new voters. It is a win win for the liberals

Can't believe that someone can call himself a conservative while ignoring the rule of law and rewarding illegality in exchange for votes

Republicans are losing because they are not conservative enough, can't communicate their message effectively and their leadership is not willing to fight.
