Compare Past and Present Hate Speech

To say I am outraged by the school board’s handling of the latest hate speech spewed by their employee would be an understatement. I have a pretty good memory for issues that seem to be unfair and a similar issue was raised in September 1997 when Mr. Jerry Driggers was accused of racism because he had an NAAWP hotline installed in his mobile home on the campus of Thomas Jefferson Elementary where he worked as a night watchman. ''They've got me labeled racist,'' Driggers said yesterday. ''We [the NAAWP] just want equal rights.'' Is this then not a civil rights issue? I do not agree with all of the NAAWP positions stated in the cited article but I support 5the organizations rights to have those positions. Now let’s look at the latest flap involving a school board employee.
Cynthia L. Jones-Humphrey on October 4, 2010 sent a hate filled letter titled”Why We Must Vote”. In this letter she does actually spell out her racist views and implores all of the recipients of this trash to send the same piece of filth to fifteen additional people.
Given the above I guess the employment risk a bigot faces is based on the race of said bigot. I remember when a white Duval County School System employee See the September 1997 article above where Mr. Jerry Driggers was fired and forced to move because he was considered a racist. Now a nonwhite bigot slanders an entire organization and is reassigned. I hope her reassigned duties include learning to read and applied critical thinking. I guess some people are more equal than others.
