Congressman Jared Polis (D-CO) introduced HR 998 the so-called “Student Non-discrimination Act.” Polis, an openly practicing homosexual, has 147 co-sponsors-all Democrats. The deceptively named bill will, in effect mandate that public schools teach and promote homosexual and lesbian behavior. Effectively HR 998 will require instruction in the entire gay agenda including:
*** Require schools to teach appalling homosexual acts so “homosexual students” don’t feel “singled out” during already explicit sex-ed classes;
*** Spin impressionable students in a whirlwind of sexual confusion and misinformation, even peer pressure to “experiment” with the homosexual “lifestyle;”
*** Exempt homosexual students from punishment for propositioning, harassing, or even sexually assaulting their classmates, as part of their specially-protected right to “freedom of self-expression;”
*** Force private and even religious schools to teach a pro-homosexual curriculum and purge any reference to religion if a student claims it creates a “hostile learning environment” for homosexual students.
The Senate version S 550 is sponsored by Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn) and has 34 co-sponsors and like the House Bill the sponsors are all Democrats. And what organizations support HR 998? Why the ACLU and the Teacher’s unions of course
HR 998 is the new height of Federal Government meddling in our schools. $80 Billion will be spent this year by the Department of Education, a new high, while student performance is at an all time low. And Congress now wants instruction in the gay agenda? Remember when “gay” used to mean fun? This dog of a bill needs to be stopped in both the Senate and the House.
