ACTION ITEMS: OUR 2ND AMENDMENT RIGHTS ARE UNDER ATTACK

      As I have stated before there will be many issues on our radar that we will need to take action on if we are to take a stand on our beliefs and have our voices heard. These are a few of the many to come where you can easily make a difference.

ACTION ITEM NUMBER 1

In December an e-mail was sent out requesting your support to attend a Planning Commission meeting that was held on Dec. 10th. I don’t know if you are aware of it or not, but that meeting received a good deal of local media attention. Most of the media was focused on the fact that a Montessori Day Care School is located across Penman Rd. from a building that is being sold by one of our members. Many of the concerns of the attendees were not relative to the conditional use application. The potential buyer of the property deferred her request until the next meeting to give her time to answer all questions fully. No residential neighbors opposed the pistol range, and both commercial neighbors are in favor of the range.

On January 14th at 7:00 pm in the City Council Chambers located at 11 North 3rd St., Jacksonville Beach, the Planning Commission will rehear the request for “conditional use” of the Atlantic Laser building to house a pistol range. The Department of Planning and Development for Jacksonville Beach has recommended Approval, provided that the applicant can adequately inform the Planning commission how the proposed facility will be designed from a ballistic and safety standpoint, and how its operation will be regulated.

We have 3 days before the meeting. If you are available on Monday night, Jan. 14th to attend the meeting in support of the pistol range, I would greatly appreciate it. If you are unable to attend the meeting, below is a list of phone numbers for the Planning Commission members and the Department of Planning and Development. A quick phone call to them or the Department as a show of support would be very helpful. Or, if you would rather email them, the email address is: [e-mail]. Before the last meeting they received phone calls and emails from businesses and individuals in favor of the range. We want to have as many people as we can to contact them in support.

I can assure you that the buyer has completed a lot of research to answer all questions from the Planning Commission and to clear any issues brought up by the citizens who opposed. She will be using systems to filter the air and capture any lead particles, installing steel walls to provide protection of bullets and insulation to abate the noise. She has contacted many experts in the field to ensure the utmost in safety, security and environmental issues are handled properly and completely. She wants to ensure the neighborhood is enhanced by this addition.

      contact your members of Congress at 202-224-3121 to urge them to oppose Sen. Feinstein’s 2013 gun and magazine ban. Our elected representatives in Congress must hear from you if we are going to defeat this gun ban proposal.  Let's all support the Pistol Range we need one in the area. If you can't make the meeting at least call tomorrow / Monday some or all of the Planning and Development people.

 We must go all out to protect our 2nd Amendment Rights. They are under attack. Hitler, Stalin, and Mao all implemented Gun Bans / Confiscation before brutally murdering over 200 million of their own people.  If we learned anthing from history, for God's sake let it not happen again.

Not wanting to sound hard hearted , and I am truly sorry for the loss of the children in Conn. , but has anybody noticed the "FLU" has already taken 20 children from their parents , who probably sat in the hospital room and watched them struggle to breathe their last breath with many more to follow , and the "FLU" has taken a total of 34,000 lives so where is Obama Care and the out cry for "FLU CONTROL". The FLU is killing more on a daily  than any mass shooting and both are caused by the medical care or lack there of !!

Leanne that poll went viral early on and actually seemed to be shut down. It came back on shortly, I suppose they realized they couldn't get away with it. It has never even been close! Nelson has been listening to Piers Morgan too much, LOL

Florida US Senator Bill Nelson has a poll on his website asking if you want the so-called assault weapons ban reinstated. Right now more than 80% say, no. If this number holds, I suspect he will quietly remove the poll. A typical liberal, he hates the sight of guns in the hands of honest men and women. You can vote only once from each computer so pass this along to friends of liberty.

This past Thursday at the Nassau legislative delegation a new grassroots group all dressed in black showed up with 80 people to demand lawmakers ban high volume magazines and sssat rifles. They have a petition they are on streets with, it was led by leaders of local democrats. The next delegation meeting is jan 18th from 5pm to 6:30pm.
