Guys, it's a horrible and degrading insult to compare, or even make an analogy between, Allen West and Hitler.
That is so far off the mark and so ugly that it should be withdrawn.
A couple of "side points":
1) Allen west was only elected in November and wasn't sworn in until late January. Thus he's only had a very short time to vote on anything and make a record for himself. This is both a negative and a positive as I see it. Negative in we don't have a long history trail to examine to determine if his actions match his words and Positive in there isn't a lot the Liberals/Progressives can tarnish him with if he runs.
2) The Patriot Act voted for this winter is significantly different than the original as it did away with much of what could be (and most likely is) unconstitutional. As written, neither State nor Federal Law Enforcement can enter a private home without due cause and it must be defended before a Judge within 72 hours of the Act. With the exception of when either there is an imminent threat of a terrorist act or the real risk of evidence being destroyed law enforcement must obtain a warrant before entery. Yes, it is before a handful of "selected" judges but it is still a legal hurdle that must be crossed before forced entery can be allowed. There are other provisions that do infringe on our freedoms if they are abused but to date I've seen no evidence of abuse other than a potential isolated case here and there. As in all politics you go for everything you want and then, more often than not, vote to approve what you can get. If the Patriot Act had not been passed when it came up for a vote there wouldn't have been a second opportunity and we would have been left defenseless. Voting for it was the right thing to do
3) Ron Paul, by his own words, is a Libertarian. I have nothing against that other than his beliefs and political philosophy is "un-winnable" in a national election. Frankly, it's too far to the right even for me. Some government is needed and some restrictions are essential in a population of our size and a country as diverse as the USA. I simply don't think Ron Paul has a chance in hell of getting the nomination and certainly wouldn't survive a national election. The sooner he gets out of the race the better for all conservatives. (Before you come back at me just remember I'm only speaking of realities.)
5) Allen West will have to be fully vetted before any serious support can be made. I'm a strong fan and endorser of him based on what he's said during his campaign for congress and since he became a congressmen. I'm also a strong believer that he was unfairly and illegally "kicked-out" of the Military strictly for the sake of Political Correctness. What he is accused of and what he admitted doing was what every Military Commander should do under the circumstances. He did not violate any section of the Geneva Convention nor did he break any of the US Army's rules of warfare (unless something was changed recently). His actions directly resulted in his unit's ability to avoid a planned ambush that would certainly have resulted in a blood bath with many US soldiers killed and seriously wounded AND directly resulted in the finding and releasing of the two soldiers who were being held as POWs at the time. He has nothing to apologize for and nothing to be ashamed of. It will be a wonderful twist of fate if he is elected Commander in Chief over the very buffoons who forced him out of the Army. Unless something horrible is found in his past that the Democrats were unable to unearth I believe he would make a great President and wonderful Commander in Chief.
Roma,
I have looked at some of these sites that are casting questions on Herman Cain and they have ties to Ron Paul, a libertarian, not that there is anything wrong with that. However, looking at a bigger picture, Cain has been winning in all the straw polls and won at the SC debate two weeks ago. The media is not mentioning Cain either. My observation is that this is competition for the office of president and competition is strategy. I will work on specific research over the next couple of weeks on Herman Cain.
GOD, thank you, I needed this!
Yesterday's message was; 'God's plan in God's time!'
West/Palin, West/Cain
If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets. It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.
You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
