What happened to my country and its leaders?

Since last Saturday when the Tucson shooting happened, I have watched in amazement at the reaction to this horrible incident.

In the past two years as the Tea Party Movement grew from the ashes of America’s economic collapse, we were ridiculed, called nasty names which far exceeded the nasty names of the past, targeted by our government, blasted by the media and misrepresented as racists.  We could not believe how we were treated simply because we were concerned about the path America was on.

Congress and the President laughed at us and with a mean-spirited attitude saying “we won” passed healthcare legislation that the majority of Americans did not want.  Other legislation passed that we battled against and the Lame Duck session was the last slap in the face of the most partisan Congress ever in history.

When the shooting occurred, we were immediately named as accomplices to the murders of these innocent people.    We were found guilty by the press within hours of the shooting.

Our country has hit a low spot that will go down in history as the slimmest leadership team ever to grace our history books.   I am so sorry I am alive to see it and wish my granddaughters would not have to endure the hardships coming towards them in their future.  Thanks to this team of left-wing, morality hating individuals, my country is now fighting not for tax reform or the end to bailouts.  No, instead we are fighting to regain our moral compass because those with no feelings for others except themselves have taken over the dialogue.

Using us as scapegoats, the progressive left decided to use the murders of these innocent people for their upcoming political campaign – “Together We Thrive.”

How funny that the most partisan Congress and President would call us out to come together.  This is a turn of the tables to win an election and make us look like the bad guys.  We know what they are up to.

If Together We Thrive becomes the political mantra of the left – they will fail.

Americans are not up to letting innocent people die at the hands of a mentally disturbed man become their platform for the 2012 election.

We wonder who bought the tee shirts?

We wonder who came up with the slogan?

We wonder who said “let’s not let this crisis go to waste” first in their strategy meeting?

The issue with Tucson is this:

A mentally disturbed young man needed help.  He didn’t get it.  His parents didn’t get it either.  He was bailed out of problems and sent back home.  He snapped and he shot up a bunch of people.  His actions had nothing to do with the tea party or those who stood up this past year – which is our duty when we see our country hurting.

Because the media and the left wing progressives decided to use this opportunity for political gain – others who are mentally ill will not get the help they need.  Others who are mentally ill – will kill other people or themselves because this political machine didn’t talk about the real issue.  Shame again on them.

To say we are at fault for this Tucson shooting is a crime.

To say the progressives decided to derail the issue and make it political will cause others to kill – is really a crime.

A tee shirt with a slogan will not save our country.

A country with a moral compass and those willing to stand up for it will.

Thanks and God Bless America,

Billie Tucker

Thanks, John.  You nailed it.  Just the ten jewels you have described from the bill are enough to scare the poo-lolly out of all of us... and the bill itself is over 2,000 pages long.  Truth is, this was not a health care bill.  It's a government takeover of our basic freedoms, a payoff to unions who spent over a billion dollars to get Obama elected, a payoff to ACORN (with its new acronym and ca. 300 affiliated "organizing" entities), and a free pass to raid your bank accounts, free pass to ration healthcare... and life itself, a disinsentive for any doctors to specialize, fewer hospitals for a growing population, and an invitation for more illegal immigration.  And that's only the tip of the iceberg.

Now, Obama wants a free pass to raid retirement accounts, so they can go the way of the "Social Security Trust Fund" that could no longer be trusted to fund anything after being raided by Lyndon Johnson and turned into a gigantic Ponzi scheme.  What more could we want?  Our constitutional republic back, perhaps?

The Big Easy? Sounds like my friend returning from Singapore. Pete..he got you on the Bush thing... John... What part of individual freedom don't you understand there comrade?

** Page 50/section 152:  The bill will provide insurance to all non-U.S. residents, even if they are here illegally.

** Page 58 and 59: The government will have real-time access to an individual's bank account and will have the authority to make electronic fund transfers from those accounts.

** Page 65/section 164:  The plan will be subsidized (by the government) for all union members, union retirees and for community organizations (such as the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now - ACORN).

** Page 203/line 14-15:  The tax imposed under this section will not be treated as a tax.  (How could anybody in their right mind come up with that?)

** Page 241 and 253:  Doctors will all be paid the same regardless of specialty, and the government will set all doctors' fees.

** Page 272. section 1145: Cancer hospital will ration care according to the patient's age.

** Page 317 and 321: The government will impose a prohibition on hospital expansion; however, communities may petition for an exception.

** Page 425, line 4-12: The government mandates advance-care planning consultations.  Those on Social Security will be required to attend an "end-of-life planning" seminar every five years. (Death counseling..)

** Page 429,  line 13-25:  The government will specify which doctors can write an end-of-life order.

HAD ENOUGH????
"Finally, it is specifically stated that this bill will not apply to members of Congress.  Members of Congress are already exempt from the Social Security system, and have a well-funded private plan (see CAFR) that covers their retirement needs. If they were on our Social Security plan, I believe they would find a very quick 'fix' to make the plan financially sound for their future."

 Any more questions?

Hey John....are you an irked lib?...just asking ..."sincerely" ...thought it a "worthy conversation".  In answer to your question, "what part of the healthcare bill do you oppose?", read my comment again, it's there for you.  Furthermore John, stay focused, Bush this, Bush that, was not part of this discussion, maybe you could start a new blog for that!  Finally, your analysis of healthcare is incorrect, and the depth of the negative effects of Obamacare won't be seen for years.  I hope we don't have to find out!  By the way, you don't have a problem saying "forced to"?....gosh, I think I just gave you a hint for the answer to your question...oops!!

Couldn't agree with you more Billie.  I watched in disbelief as Obama asked for "a better democracy for young Christina", the 9 year old gunned down. Talk about audacity. Is that the same democracy that he used to shove healthcare down our throats?  What happened to our country?, the left laughs at us for getting "all worked up" trying to "save" our country.  I have personally been in debates with liberals who have said to me "our country never left"  when I say we need to take it back.  This really irks me becuse they are wrong.  Our country has been "changing", moving away from the principles by which we were founded as outlined in our constitution.  I believe, that if THEY want to continue this trend, that is one thing, but THEY need to come up with a new name for this country, because this isn't how we were founded.          Rahm Emauel said "You never let a crisis go to waste"

After reading Thompson's and Ferranti's comments on this blog, I also felt the need to comment.  Receiving unemployment benefits is not sponging off of the taxpayers.  As an employer, I pay unemployment taxes.  I am glad to pay them, actually because when I must lay off a worker or terminate their employment, the only way I can do it at all in this economy is knowing there is at least a safety net out there.  Unfortunately, we have hired people who are unable to do the job required.   At other times, the needs of my business have changed, and I have laid off workers. Most people on unemployment want a job; unemployment pays next to  nothing.  it would be impossible to "live well" on unemployment if you had any bills to pay at all.  when we are discussing ways to hold elected officials accountable, there is absolutely  no reason to demonize those who are less fortunate, those who are looking for work and those who think differently.  It gets us nowhere fast.  Let's continue to focus on getting the right people elected and making sure they don't become part of the problem.

I'll tell you what's happening to our country "As We Speak".

Chinese Hu Jin Tao just this morning was quoted " the dollar world economy is the past".

How many of you understand what will happen to the U.S. if this comes to pass?

Once oil gets denominated in a currency other than U.S. dollars, it's the beginning of the end. Right now, our dollar is the world's reserve currency. That's about to change.

The far-reaching effects are so far over the heads of the American Public that you'll find very little mention made in the pop-culture blogs and media.

As for me, when the markets open tomorrow, I'm taking steps to protect what I've worked for for lo, these 55 years.

I've been in trucking for 42 years and yes you can consider that a mental disorder. As an independent trucker, your pretty much on your own. Every time you drop a load off your looking for a job. You are your own benefits package including unemployment. I've had extra trucks over the years for really no other reason than to give some fellows that I liked a way to earn a living. One of those guys quit and went to work at Lowes about 6 years ago. I thought that was brilliant, since the hourly rate for time spent away from home for most truckers is probably equal to someone working at McDonalds.

Well, yesterday he showed up at my house and announced Lowes has cut back and let a bunch of people go. Instead of wanting me to supply him a truck to drive, he was asking for information on buying his own truck. Instead of giving him my opinion, I gave him my blessing.

Not everyone is cut out for the mental, physical and economic stress in this kind of business. I think he has an idea of what lies ahead. But, the thing I'm the most proud of, is the fact he doesn't need to consider unemployment, when lord knows he's entitled. This is in essence the type of debt that drives a country forward, unlike that of consumer debt which never pays for it's self.

He's in fact drawing on his experience, looking for a mentor and wants to take on the world. Government regulation and all. Call it blind faith in a system that has become very unforgiving to the entrepreneur. By definition, an entrepreneur is a person who has possession of a new enterprise, venture or idea and is accountable for the inherent risks and the outcome. He is choosing a profession in which he will most certainly endure nearly every element known to man.

It certainly brings to mind the source my encouragement:

And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.

In this world of sin and sorrow there is always something to be thankful for; as for me, I rejoice that I am not a Republican. H. L. Mencken

To Anita Thompson ("If you can't do a job doing something you like, learn how to do something that pays a salary, you don't have to love your job, but you do have to support yourself, it's immoral to sponge off the taxpayers.").  EXCUSE ME:  Unemployment is NOT a Conservative/liberal issue; it is a human being issue.  I'm a conservative & I've worked and paid taxes since I was 17 years old, about 40 years.  I single-parented for 27 years in total, without Child Support & I worked at PLENTY of jobs I didn't care for but my kids had to eat & I kept them safe & warm anyway.  Now, suddenly, in 2008, I was laid off & have worked at MORE temporary jobs, part time jobs & 3 stints with the Census Bureau, none of which was what I "liked" but I did have to support myself, thank you very much.  The employers are afraid to hire new employees right now because of our administrations mutilation of the economy.  it's not my fault very few companies are hiring & the qualifications are very explicit--I have TRIED to get jobs outside my field, but am always told I'm not qualified or experienced enough--even for janitor work or retail--or maybe YOU can work 3 jobs at $7-8 an hour so you can pay YOUR bills.  If I'm having to get unemployment now, and there aren't enough jobs of ANY kind in Jacksonville to provide work for its population, shall all of us on unemployment now go to homeless shelters?  I have no family to move in with & no other income, have had bad luck with roommates & am at the end of my rope.  Unemployment isn't enough to live on anyway, it's not like we're living high off the hog. It's much easier to go to a regular job every day than have to job-search 24 hours a day & keep getting rejected over & over--you think it's so easy?  I've lost all my hard-earned credit standing & am losing everything else.  I NEVER thought I'd have a hard time getting work, it's making me & many others frustrated & crazy & now getting criticized on top of it is just too much; so who are you to be an authority?  Stop judging people unless you've walked in their shoes.

When people comment on Dems and Republicans I must laugh. Here is the thing we have tea party canidates that ran as republicans, but lets hope there not. Pres Bush opened the door for the current administration. He gave bail outs then Obama kicked the door open the rest of the way. Wake UP if we keep thinking in partys and not vet these people we loose again this will be for not. I will say if this dont change Ill be looking for other partys to start. look at history this happened in the mid 1800s, and the republican party was borne. SO DO NOT LOOK AT REPUBvs DEMS there is no diffrence. If there were they couldent switch partys so easily. Stop the kool ade and drink the tea.

What has happened to My Country?

Elections have become popularity contests.

Political speech has become mass media entertainment.

Money has become debt.

Truth has become spin.

Republic has become democracy.

Life has become existence.

Liberty has become tyranny.

And the pursuit of happiness has become entitlements.

Morality? Not really sure.

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
