We mourn with Episcopal

Yesterday a tragedy that we normally see on television showed up in our hometown. A well-educated and unassuming young man, Shane Schumerth, murdered his former boss at Episcopal High School.  Head of School Dale Regan was a wonderful administrator, teacher and steward of service to her community. 

Today we were contacted by the media asking if Shane Schumerth was a member of the tea party.  Mr. Schumerth was not a member in our membership database of nearly 10,000 First Coast residents.

We are shocked and saddened by this terrible tragedy.  There are many in the First Coast Tea Party who went to Episcopal.  There are many who sent their children there and now grandchildren are walking the halls of this wonderful school.

We know the days and weeks to follow will be difficult for the students, faculty and parents of Episcopal.  We know their faith will see them through and the legacy Dale Regan left behind will serve many other generations of Episcopal students.

You could probably reach one of the OWS people on their government subsidized cell phones or maybe e-mail one of them on one of their government subsidized laptops. I know Im a little off subject but I'm just saying. I mean if the media really wanted to be non bias. Maybe the media should be asking if the government is at fault after all it is they that have put people in such desperate situations. I have ask myself why is so much of this kind of thing happening. Could it be that when these people lose their jobs they feel that the chance of finding another is to bleak and they are afraid they will lose everything and out of anger they take it out on their supervisers? Our people in government set in their ivory towers uneffected by the toles of the common people and are so out of touch that they do not know what is needed to make things right. Or is it that they have became so obsessed by their quest for power and wealth that they have forgotten by whose grace put them in their positions? Maybe it is time to ask ourselves if nulification is such a bad idea. After all it is through their legislation that good has become bad and bad has become good and the one being that has held this country together for over two hundred years is being denied in every aspect of our lives through the rantings of a few. Where is the hope that Obama promised? If this is it I will have none of it. What has happened to the needs of the many over the needs of the few. Now there are many in the soup lines and a few who are not. Really it is not hard to understand why women are killing themselves and their children, men are killing their families and then themselves students are killing students and teachers are killing teachers people have lost sight of the hope that Obama promised. Open your eyes people he is not the Messiah the Democrats made him to be and those who hold office hold only the desire to fill their pockets off of the backs of the people. There are those who would say that these words would prove myself mad but I say the proof is in the pudding.

Continuing to pray today. My husband is a grief counselor. I wish we lived closer so we could walk through this with all of you. 

SHAME on the media for trying to scapegoat ANYONE in this situation except the person who chose to do this when not himself. So many lives forever altered.

God give rest to Mrs Regan and comfort to her family. Just wondering if the media called the "Occupy" group and asked if Mr Schumerth was a member?

Very sad for all concerned.  A wonderful woman lost her life, and a very young man, who obviously was not himself, will never be the same or live the same life he might have.  I feel so sorry for all of the people in their lives and the pain they are suffering just now.  As far as being a tea party member, I guess I would wonder what possible difference that could make?  Haven't we got enough of a tragedy without trying to find a way to poor mouth any group or organization or try to make it appear something or someone else was instrumental...................shame on the media!

This is a tragedy that is limitless in all aspects.  The whole of Jacksonville felt the grief personally.  I knew the area where Episcopal High is, as a day camp, full of fun, with great counselors, staff, and a "Dean" that went on to be Archbishop in New York, Dean Blanchard.  It was the place where Henry Flagler had a Boys Home, an orphanage and the area seemed to be eternally hallowed.  No more.  This tragedy disenfranchizes the grounds for me.  When I heard of the planned destruction of the "Flagler House" to build the Hart Bridge, I felt a forboding of ominous desecration.  Let us pray for all the affected, City and Families.

 Such a tragedy! When it hit the news my son called to make sure I knew WHO had been killed. He worked as a baseball coach for 5 years at Episcopal and loved Dale Regan. She was very helpful to him and most supportive.

 I understand some of his students commented he stopped teaching spanish and was lecturing instead and socialism and other "left" issues. Amazing that they wanted to make the Tea Party the scape goat!

 Thoughts and prayers to the Regan family and the Episcopal school community. She will be missed but NEVER forgotten.

No one should be surprised that the media tried to connect Schumerth in any way with the Tea Party, They will try whatever is necessary to discredit us!
