URGENT: Action Required Immediately FLA Bill VETO NEEDED re: TEXT BOOK/ CHILDREN Contact Governor Scott!

It truly never ends!
Patriots and Parents,

Our textbooks are the primary means in which our country has been subverted and why many of our college children are now returning after 4 years thinking America and Israel are the problem, and that socialism is good.

There is an all out assault on our American way of life via our textbooks and a coalition of concerned parents who are members of the community, TEA Party, 912, ACT for America, the Textbook Action Team have recently joined forces and have teams working in 31 counties to monitor textbooks and make changes to already flawed books in florida with over 200 misleading statements regarding Islam alone. Some text have over 22 pages devoted to Islam with only 3 -6 regarding Christianity and Judaism in our history. Most is denigrating to our Judeo/Christian Heritage while praising all things Islam.

A current Bill is going through which would essentially take the ability of parents and community leaders to right this wrong.... a bill which would put our entire states curriculum into the hands of ust (3) individual unnamed "Experts".

We do not know who these experts are? Their political leanings? hidden agendas, if any? or who they are being influenced by.... and it will be too late to make a difference by the time we do, once in place it will be all but impossible to correct.

Please see the email below and the sample letter below that which you can tweak as you deem appropriate and please send to all in your sphere of influence AND CONTACT THE GOVERNOR TODAY... HE IS AWARE AND LOOKING FOR FEEDBACK FROM US....... BEFORE HE WILL VETO THIS BILL.

THE HEARTS AND MINDS OF OUR CHILDREN ARE AT STAKE..... PLEASE GET INVOLVED and consider joining this coalition in their new group being formed by Sheri Krass, below and called EYE ON EDUCATION. Begin making a difference in Your Childs life or that of a family member.

GOD BLESS.

Subject: Contact Governor Scott!
From: sheri1449@gmail.com
To:

Governor Scott has not as of yet signed SB 2120 which would abolish the State Instructional Materials Committee (SIMC). Mike McCalister. who is going to be running again Senator Bill Nelson in 2012, spoke to the Governor concerning this issue. The Governor is waiting to see how many people throughout the State actually contact him .
I have attached a letter to the Governor that can be sent. It can, of course, be edited to fit an individual's personal beliefs. Please email this letter to your contact list and ask everyone to send it to the Governor ASAP.
The Governor needs to be inundated with letters! It's NOT too late to correct this!

Dear Governor Scott,
Up until now, parents, grandparents, and other laypeople have participated in the State Instructional Materials Committee (SIMC). This committee has been made up of people with different backgrounds from all parts of the State of Florida. With this input, there is a greater chance that the textbooks approved by the Florida Department of Education (FDOE) best represent what the people of our great State want for their children.

With the passage of Section 1006.29 of SB 2120, lay people will no longer take part in the approval of textbooks.

We, the People of Florida, do not accept this. We want you to veto this section, as it places the choice of textbooks on a few unknown “expert” people who may not have the same beliefs about education of our children that the parents of those children have.

Please do not sign this legislation as it stands now. The rights of the people of the State of Florida to have a say in what their children learn will be denied if this legislation is signed.
Signed,

The Department of Education has been working diligently to centralize control over curriculum, student data, and the student's education path.  Please take a few minutes to tell Governor Scott that this bill is egregious in its nature of further subjugating parental/citizen voices to governmental/nationalized control of our children through both the context of what they are taught and who is teaching them.

This bill deletes the section of our state statute that addresses "lay persons" participating in the process.

987    (1) Each school year, not later than April 15, the
988    commissioner shall appoint state instructional materials
989    committees composed of persons actively engaged in teaching or
990    in the supervision of teaching in the public elementary, middle,
991    or high schools and representing the major fields and levels in
992    which instructional materials are used in the public schools
993    and, in addition, lay citizens not professionally connected with
994    education. Committee members shall receive training pursuant to
995    subsection (5) in competencies related to the evaluation and
996    selection of instructional materials.
997    (a) There shall be 10 or more members on each committee: At
998    least 50 percent of the members shall be classroom teachers who
999    are certified in an area directly related to the academic area
1000    or level being considered for adoption, 2 shall be laypersons, 1
1001    shall be a district school board member, and 2 shall be
1002    supervisors of teachers. The committee must have the capacity or
1003    expertise to address the broad racial, ethnic, socioeconomic,
1004    and cultural diversity of the state’s student population.
1005    Personnel selected as teachers of the year at the school,
1006    district, regional, or state level are encouraged to serve on
1007    instructional materials committees.

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
