TPN: Another bad idea flies under the radar.

This would be a nightmare.  As someone who once sold on Ebay, I can tell you, I did not want to have to use the same id everywhere.  Too easy for someone to steal your info and your identity.  Of course that isn't why Obama wants it.  He wants to be able to follow you everywhere and keep track of what you do AND SAY, and if you are a seller, he will hire many new government employees to be sure you pay every dime you owe the feds.

When a huge news story hits, like the tragedy in Tucson, a lot of other important news gets buried.

One of the news stories that should have gotten a lot more attention is the proposal of the Obama administration to issue every American a unique Internet identification.

First, whenever you see the words “a proposal from the Obama administration,” the words “a bad idea,” should follow.

As always, this is a really bad idea.

The Obama regime is trying to sell the “Trusted Identities in Cyberspace” as a good idea.  Instead of having to remember dozens of passwords, you now have one ID.  What could go wrong?

Anyone remember Social Security?

When Social Security was first proposed, many who objected to it feared that a Social Security number would become a national ID. In fact, in the first version of the Social Security law, there was a prohibition against the use of the Social Security Number for identification.

How many times in the last week were you asked for your Social Security Number?  Try getting a paycheck or a license without one. Try going to school or getting credit.  Except, of course, if you are an illegal alien, in which case you get more rights than American citizens.

Privacy advocates fear the end of privacy on the Internet.  With this “unique” identification, you could be tracked all over the Internet. Even if you posted something anonymously, it would not really be anonymous.   Would you really want the government or anyone to know you have been spending time on questionable websites, like the Huffington Post or MSNBC?

The Commerce Secretary, Gary Locke says this would not be a national ID nor would there be a database created.  Does anyone believe anything the Obama regime says?  Even if he was being truthful, which is a big assumption, he is only being truthful for today.

The ramifications of this are enormous.  First, it makes identity theft not only easier, but also more catastrophic for its victims.  With only one account to compromise, once you have this number, you have everything.

And there maybe something even more sinister lurking.

We know how much the Obama regime loves criticism.  If they had their way, they would shut down talk radio and conservative Internet web sites.

Can you imagine this evolving into an Internet license?    Then the license could be revoked.  Imagine that you will not be allowed to get on the Internet without a license.  Your license maybe subject to being taxed.  If you commit any number of ever expanding offenses, your Internet license can be revoked.

If this idea of one Internet pass key to access all of your accounts was such a good idea, private industry would have come up with it a long time ago.  Instead, we are being asked to trust the most corrupt regime in modern history to control our access to the greatest aid to freedom and democracy since the invention of the printing press.

What could go wrong?

Who knows Chris.  The whole thing with this man is too over the top for me.  He really needs an escape of some sort (maybe more golf would be good ....  like every day all day).

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
