JACKSONVILLE - Former Florida Education Commissioner Jim Horne had some pretty tough words today for mayoral candidate Alvin Brown. In a letter sent today to the editor of the Florida Times Union, Horne called on Brown to 'do his homework.'

The former Florida Education Commissioner said he wrote the letter to 'state unequivocally that Mike Hogan has never supported cutting education funding' after Brown's campaign tactics took a nasty turn last week in an ad falsely attacking Hogan's education record.

"As a House member, Mike was part of a group of legislators from North Florida that not only fought for increased funding for education every year, but also was instrumental in helping to change Florida's funding formula for our students which benefitted Northeast Florida school districts," Horne explained in the letter.  "Prior to changing the formula, South Florida was getting the lion's share of the education dollars.  He also was a strong advocate for teachers and programs like the National Board of Certified Teachers, giving them opportunities to advance."

Apparently, down in the polls, wrong on the issues, caught without a real plan and desperate to gain traction, Brown seems to be working double-time to distract voters from his willingness to raise taxes for downtown by distorting Hogan's record.

"The citizens of Duval County need to know that during Mike Hogan's tenure in the Florida Legislature, funding for public schools on a per student basis increased by over 10% and total public school funding increased by over 2 billion dollars. He fought alongside then Governor Jeb Bush and me to increase student funding," wrote Horne, who served as Florida's Education Commissioner from 2001-2004 under Governor Jeb Bush.

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
