Times Union: Sen. Bill Nelson pushes for more financial regulation to lower gas prices

"He wants curbs put on practice he blames for inflating prices."

The main problem I see with this is that Mr. Nelson's approach indicates he thinks government can solve a problem like this (probably, if we checked, we would find some regulation the federal government passed that caused the problem to start with).  Government regulation is not the answer to much of anything and as we all know, it usually compounds problems or starts new problems that must be solved (just a vicious spiral with ever more government involvement).
