Times Union: Obama’s proposed budget includes $6.4M for bus-only lanes in Jacksonville

I don't know how many of you watch our buses and notice how low ridership is, but not many people ride the bus.  I can't imagine why we would tear up more of our city streets to do this (unless of course this is another move to help the unions....I suspect).  I also don't understand how eliminating one lane and making it dedicated is going to ease congestion; from my viewpoint, eliminating one already congested lane would compound the problem by making less lanes available (but that's just my opinion).
