Times Union: Florida lawmakers turning toward pension plan cuts

Because our state, like the city, will be dealing with a rather large short fall in revenue, our state is now seriously looking to fix pension plans that have been approved in the past.  All of the folks that sat with unions and agreed to these unreal contracts basically knew they would never have to deal with the problems when they finally hit, so they kicked the can down the street to some unknown governor.  The process has begun at any rate, and this article details the feelings of some of state representatives as well as providing a good bit of information.
