The Tea Party Needs You

We are growing and each day finds new people coming to our community site and signing up.  In the beginning of our movement, people would put in false names or first names only.  They feared retaliation for joining this movement.  Now times are different and the names on our roles are first and last and comments from new members go something like this – “I’m proud to finally sign up and join your movement” or “I can’t take it anymore, enough is enough!”

 

People do not fear retaliation anymore.  They are now walking into the fear and staring it in the eyes and calling it what it is.  Reminds me of Clint Eastwood in Sudden Impact:  (warning a little off color) - Dog Poop

 

As we watch the numbers grow, we want to reach out and ask for your help.  A small group of people started this local tea party and we are “pooped” and need reinforcements for many major projects.  Here are a few of our needs.  Check them out and let us know if and how you can help:

• Writers – Please send us copies of anything you might have written and how you go about writing articles (research you use, etc.).  We specifically need people who can blog about political happenings on our website.  We need writers for a) local news; b) state news; and c) national news.  International news writer would be great too.  Each blog will need a Call to Action so people will understand how to get involved and not just talk. 

 

• Newsletter Team– We have the ability to send a newsletter and we blog on our Community site at www.fctpcommunity.org.  We also have a public site at www.firstcoastteaparty.org.  We need to send a weekly newsletter to our database.  This team should consist of an editor, writer(s) and graphic designers.   This is an important way to communicate and newsletters can be sent virally or printed out and mailed to those who are not able to be on a computer. 

 

• Events – We have numerous events coming soon and we need help with organizational skills as well as creative talents.   Events are fun to plan and take a well organized and dedicated group of people behind the scenes to pull them off.  Will you help us with your talents?

 

• Neighborhood Tea Party Groups – We already have Community Groups in the larger sections of town such as Northside, Westside, Southside, Beaches, Arlington, and Clay County.  We need to develop more groups and conquer 2012 by growing our numbers.  A new group will be formed in the San Marco/San Jose area soon.  We need more and more groups in neighborhoods meeting monthly to discuss what is going on and plans of action we can take as a movement.  Please contact us if you would like to set up a Monthly Tea Party Group in your neighborhood.  Each of the already established groups cover large masses of ground and we need to have smaller groups formed in those areas.  We will help you so be not afraid.  The template is there and other great Community Leaders will help you too.   

 

• Poll Project Team – This is a newly formed team and they are focusing solely on any election prior to and on November 2012.  Their goal:  Ensure integrity in the polls and getting people out to vote.  We have a LOT of needs with this team such as:
  • Poll Workers and Watchers during the primary and final election in November 2012
  • Signing up new voters
  • Researching the voter rolls
  • Legal issues – attorneys and paralegals
  • Media liaison
  • Marketing and PR – designing marketing materials to encourage voter turnout
  • Get out the Vote which includes calling people, visiting your neighbors, handing out fliers, etc.
  • Fundraising Team – We are in need of help to raise funds to keep our office open, pay our monthly bills such as phones, internet, utilities, etc.  We also have a large insurance payment that is paid for by donations.  This team needs to find ways to bring in donations without constantly begging for money.  The begging is rough but we do need money.
