Sounds like the same old City Council that brought us that nice 9% tax increase. The city has no money for the things we REALLY need but money for everthing else. Banks are no help to anyone except people that don't need them or the people that have painted themselves in a corner and need a mortgage loan modification. If you have acted resposibly and have good credit try and get one. Banks handle their business badly and get bailed out. You and I handle our business properly and get the shaft. The last thing Jacksonville needs is another lousy bank. I can see help for any business any business Except for a bank. We would be better off with a whore house downtown at least you know what they are. The dont parade around around like a wonderful businees that is there for you and I. If they get the money everyone who lives in Duval County and pays taxes should take their money out and bank elsewhere. It's not like there isn't another bank in town. Sound like some payback to the city for the big Everbank sign over the football stadium. Think about it!!

John, they are talking about just this matter on another blog at http://firstcoastteaparty.ning.com/profiles/blogs/everbank-and-corp...

I think there is something about next Thursday but I am not sure.  I posted the rules committee meeting (ethics bill discussion should happen in the AM tomorrow) and I also posted the next city council meeting on the events calendar.   If I can get someone to mention a date or we can get a date, I would list as an event and then, let Billie take it from there if she wants to send something to the total membership.   We DO need to stay on top of this, the ethics commission and a couple of other hot items right now!   It just never ends.

Oh by the way, those 3% tax increases for 3 years amounted to 9.27% when you figure the compound on it as you added 3% and then, charged an additional 3% on that and then, the 3rd year added 3% more to the whole thing yet again.

Do you know when this comes before the city council.

I think what we might ask is who is connected to this bank?  You may rest assured there is more to this than meets the eye.  This will be the first large concern to move downtown, and they are setting a standard we taxpayers can't continue.  We don't have the money to award the costs to move to everyone that decides to move downtown, now can we?  And basically, they are raising the property taxes of the unemployed so they can give the money to a bank that has plenty of money and doesn't need it.  How does that make sense?????

Atlantic Coast Bank is a great bank and they actually know you when you go in.  To heck with all the big names, they don't know us or care about us.

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
