REPRESENTATIVE GALVANO STATEMENT ON HJR 37 - THE HEALTHCARE FREEDOM ACT

TALLAHASSEE, FL – Representative Bill Galvano (R-Bradenton) issued the following statement regarding House Joint Resolution (HJR) 37, known as the Health Care Freedom Act, a proposed constitutional amendment that seeks to exempt Florida residents from the federal mandate on health care insurance coverage:

"I share Representative Plakon's policy goal of making sure that Floridians' rights are not abridged by overreaching and burdensome government mandates on their private health care decisions.

"The Florida Constitution is a unique document with issues particular to our state. With that challenge in mind, I will continue working with Representative Plakon and House Majority Leader Hasner to find language that best fits Florida's constitution and protects the rights and freedoms of all Floridians."
