PRESS RELEASE FROM FIRST COAST TEA PARTY REGARDING NAACP RESOLUTION

IMMEDIATE PRESS RELEASE STATEMENT

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world.

Indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” ~ Margaret Mead

Jacksonville, FL: July 14, 2010 – In lieu of the resolution passed by the NAACP condemning the Tea Party Movement as racist, the First Coast Tea party sadly releases the following formal statement as we stand up for those involved in this great American movement:

Since the inception of the First Coast Tea Party, the group has been explicit that the Tea Party Movement places no labels on anyone and is open to all who share our mission and want to have a voice in America’s future. In fact, First Coast Tea Party founders felt so strongly that all Americans, regardless of religion, gender and race, should be welcomed into the movement, they made the above statement part of the First Coast Tea Party’s mission, which can be found on the ABOUT page of the www.firstcoastteaparty.org website.

By condemning the Tea Party Movement as racist, with no evidence or formal allegations to back this claim, the NAACP has made it clear they wish to divide rather than unite our country’s citizens. At a time when our communities should join together and find solutions to the problems we face such as massive debt, growing unemployment and the oil spill, the NAACP instead spends their efforts, time and dollars writing resolutions.

We have much to do to Restore the Republic to its founding principles. We invite all who want to unite in this effort to join us as we work together to solve problems, hold our political servants accountable to the Constitution and it’s principles and we make a better world for our children and grandchildren to live in where unity prevails and everyone is proud to call themselves an American citizen.

UPDATE-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

NOTE: After releasing this statement, we were contacted by two local television stations and one has a poll asking if you believe the Tea Party is racist. It would be good for you to take the poll and become a part of the results.

The poll can be found at: http://www.actionnewsjax.com/default.aspx

We plan to let this issue die off. We were called by the press and we responded. The NAACP will look foolish for this resolution. The link is http://www.actionnewsjax.com/default.aspx and it is towards the bottom right hand corner. The results are hysterical.

Agree Mary Ann, and I can't imagine dropping everything (any more than the Obama regime did) and letting this be the focus of more than the hour or two already wasted on it (and then, letting them talk to themselves if they were looking for a response.........the whole thing is ludicrous!)

I find the timing of these allegations by the NAACP very suspicous. Right after the Department of Justice becomes headline news for it's policy of not prosecuting black criminals that commit crimes against whites and Michelle Obama pays a visit to NAACP, lo and behold, they decide to file racism allegations against the Tea Party. They have certainly done a great job of turning media attention on the Tea Party and away from real racism being perpetrated by the Obama administration. As the saying goes, "The best defense is a good offense".

Billie, you just can't get into this place. They don't have anything else to fight back with (it is the only card left in their hand). The left has been using race on folks since Obama started his campaign if anyone dared speak out against anything they did or said. You aren't a racist and neither are the tea party groups. For myself, I don't think the incident in Washington really happened, but I think someone could see a future use for such an incident if they could create one (sad that seems to be all these folks think of is race). There is no proof; there is no video with even a voice saying something racist much less pictures or anything else. They have nothing period except their word (give me a break....would they take our word for something?.........I think not). I would let this die as much as you can. The more we make of it, the more illumination this senseless accusation gets. It should not turn into some tit for tat sort of thing that drags on and on.

By the way, I looked for the poll, and althought I found the article, I couldn't find any poll.

Billie,

We wonder how many of these NAALCP have been to a Tea Party. Probably very few if any. We have been to the local Tea Parties in addition to last September in D.C. We did not see or hear one racist act.

Keep up the good work and we thank you.

The people behind this resolution obviously have never been to a tea party. Remind me the ethnicity of the guest speaker and emcee at the tax day tea party?? Yeah, we're racist. And I'm a supermodel!

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
