Merry Christmas to All

I want to wish a Merry Christmas to everyone....I have never really understood the reason to substitute Happy Holidays.  My wife and I just returned from 3 weeks in Belgium, Austria and Germany.  How wonderful it was to see all the navitity scenes and displays in center of cities and small towns.  It was exactly as I remembered years past in my own hometown in Maine.  Everyone participated in school and church plays about the birth of Christ and true meaning and reason for celebrating Christmas.  If you didn't like get involved, you did not have to participate.  If you did not want to celebrate Christmas with a tree, presents and a songs of joy.. that was up to you.  Nobody objected to your decision then, but now it seems that the few who object have been winning and forcing others to be unable to display or show their love for Christ our Savior.  The Germans, Austrians, French, and people in Belgium have not stopped their traditions with Christmas celebrations.  Hopefully, as we begin to stop the destruction of our freedoms in this country, more and more people will find their voice and strength in their legs and rise up to fight to retain our traditions and freedoms.  If others do not like it then leave this country. 

I have visited national cemeteries in Europe and Asia and America and in silence looked across the white crosses and the Star of David marking each of the graves of service men and women who had given their lives for the freedoms we have been enjoying.  WWI and WWII, Korea, Vietnam, and now the Middle East. They fought to stop dictators and the spread of Communism.  And now we have card carrying Communists in our Congress.  Followers of Marxism leading our country into Socialism.

I wonder what our parents and grandparents and great grandparents would say about the direction and status of our country now under Obama and other liberals?  They worked long hard days and suffered through hard times and enjoyed the good times.  How would most of them feel knowing that their sons gave up their lives to stop the spread of Communism and socialism to this country?  When I was growing up, people did not want to collect unemployment...they went and found work somewhere, doing whatever they could.  They did not expect others to give them money to sit on their butt and whine.  I served in the military and still worked part-time whenever I could.  No matter tough times were, Christmas has always been a special time of celebration.
