Libya Petition: Do your part today

First Coast Tea Party is a part of a Statewide Coalition of Tea Parties in Florida.  The Coalition is named:  Florida Alliance.  Florida Alliance has come together to create a petition against the Libyan invasion by our President.

 

Congress is the only governmental authority empowered to “Declare War” under Article I, Section 8 of the U.S. constitution.  Yet, the President of the United States has opted to proceed with military action in Libya based on a vote of a group of 15 people in the U.N. Security Council. These are people were never elected and do not have the “consent of the governed” - many of whom seek a weak America.

By firing 114 missiles at Libyan targets on Saturday (3/19/11), the President has engaged our military in a "hostile act" as defined in the 1973 War Powers Resolution. By law, he has until Monday afternoon (48 hours) to report to Congress on this action and then Congress has 60 days to authorize this act or military action must cease.  Even now, after initially backing military action in Libya, the Arab League is criticizing the missile attack (cNBC) and Russia also seeks to command the U.S. Military  (UPI) to stop its attack plan…clarifying how unreliable these “allies” are. That is why President George Washington warned us to avoid foreign influence an... as they are dangerous to our country. Now Secretary Robert Gates reports that the U.S. Military will be under the command of a foreign military coali... (Fox)!

Since Congress is not planning to vote on a declaration of war, this is the only chance that YOU, The PEOPLE will have to tell your Congressional represenatives how to vote.

 

The Florida Alliance believes that American Military involvement in Libya at this point is unconstitutional, unwise and is likely to escalate in dangerous ways.  It is an unacceptable burden on our economy and on our fine men and women of the U.S. Military who are not supposed to be at the beck and call of the U.N. – but are sworn to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States alone.

 

The Florida Alliance asks you to take this only opportunity you may have as a U.S. Citizen to stop America’s involvement in a foolhardy and unconstitutional war. 

 

We ask that you call or write your Congressman and tell them:

That is so true J.R. and Roma. I feel that this President keeps testing the Constitution and how far he can go. That statement from VP Joe Biden made in his first year, keeps haunting me, his comments October 2008:

"Mark my words, it will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We’re about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old senator president of the United States of America. Remember I said it standing here . . . we’re gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy.”

He cited Russia and the Middle East as possible places that may cause problems, as well as the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan – “crawling with al-Qaeda” – as being of particular concern.

Mr Obama would need help and support, Mr Biden suggested, “because it’s not gonna be apparent, initially, that we’re right.” He then spotted the media in the room, “I probably shouldn’t have said all this because it dawned on me that the press is here."

 

He has since decided, even though it is against his Christian beliefs that the Marriage Act is unconstitutional and he will not support it. So now we have a President that can pick and choose what laws he deems Constitutional? Note here that his Christian pastor, Reverend Wright, is friends with and visited Gadhafi.

 

It is disturbing that this administration always makes good use of a crisis for their political gain, they want you to listen to what they say but not to pay attention to what they are actually doing.

 

He has been caught in so many lies, the hidden appropriation of $105,464,000,000.00 billion in the Health Care Bill, that was not even legally appropriated by Congress through the proper channels leaving the majority of Congressional representatives in the dark, another reason that Congressional representatives should be required to thoroughly read and understand a bill before it is voted on.

 

He also stated that you could keep the health care that you have now, it will not affect you, i have written him and my representatives telling them that we NO LONGER HAVE THE HEALTH CARE PLAN we had before this bill was signed into law, the company had to go to a different plan because of the health care bill, we now have a company that we have to go to, instead of going to the Insurance company, which is the same but because costs have risen so dramatically in the last year, the company changed the plan. More middle people to deal with and to pay, ain't that grande?

 

Explain how he objects and stops drilling in the U.S., is always condemning oil usage and then goes to Brazil and praises them for deep water drilling, loans them $2,000,000,000.00 to drill and tells them, we will be your best customer. 

 

And now he is turning over command of our military to foreign countries. These are not high crimes being committed? I don't think so. Many in his administration and cabinet are guilty also. What happened his oath of office that he swore to ALL Americans: 

"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States."

 

He is shredding it to pieces.

Failure to follow the U.S. Constitution and the codified laws of the United States are "high crimes" and far more serious infractions of the law than "misdemeanors."  In my opinion, Obama has committed both... and so have some members of the Department of Justice. 

The power-hungry United Nations was the outcome of lengthy plans made by President Franklin D. Roosevelt, in collaboration with a few heads of other nations, commencing in 1942 and culminating with the signing of the treaty by President Harry Truman in 1945, 13 days after the death of Roosevelt.  This was Democrat-progressive Roosevelt's baby and what he pushed to create has now become a monster that salivates for world government with the United Nations in control.

It really strains credulity to call Mexico a nation "friendly" to the United States.  Some friend!  They have become progressively more aggressive as their economy has largely been funded by renditions from illegal Mexican foreign nationals who flooded into America, in violation of our border and immigration laws, and have taken away jobs from Americans by working under-the-table at wages that violate our minimum-wage and labor laws.  Also, by their profiting from illegal human smuggling of other nations' illegal foreign nationals (suspected terrorists and even children for the illegal sex-trade) into the U.S. and smuggling of illegal drugs into and all over the U.S.   There have even been Mexican military excursions across the U.S. border to protect illegal entries and smuggling.  And a whole swath of Arizona is now off limits to Americans, but not to foreign intruders who attack and kill some of our Border Patrol agents and Arizona citizens, while the Obama administration concedes that safe highway for illegal drug distribution and sale and posts signs warning Americans to keep out. This is a prime example of  high crimes of Obama and his administration for failure and refusal to enforce existing codified U.S. laws and secure our international borders.  Like "truth," "friendship" is not a comparable word.  Either you have it... or you don't.

Is this an impeachable offense? I am against the bombing of Libya; if we are there for humanitarian reasons (being likened to Kosovo), then why have we sat back and watched Ruwanda with millions dead and raped and done nothing?  Because Ruwanda is not strategically important.  But if we are going to be signing petitions, let's sign a petition to get our troops out of Afghanistan and Iraq (war never declared), and for that matter Korea and Kosovo.  The U.S. never declared war in Korea, and we still have troops there.  Once the US moves in, we never leave.
