In Remembrance and Celebration: The First Coast Tea Party Participates in the 2011 Veterans Day Parade

Yesterday, the downtown streets of Jacksonville were alive with appreciation for those who have offered their service to one of the branches of the U.S. military.  The First Coast Tea party joined the Veterans Day celebration as we came together at this time of remembrance, recognition and gratitude.

Our Patriot Guard led the Liberty Wharf and those fellow patriots that walked the route as we shook hands, observed salutes, waved, smiled and privately reflected on why we came out to be a part of 11/11/11.  We were accompanied this year by veterans, patriots from different walks of life, valued photos of those that served and are serving, children that either proudly held a photo of a family member or joined the walk or held the hand of a loved one.  The magical presence of Jamie  the "hooperstar"added that extra thought of wonder as we saw the joy she brought to those along the parade route.

As we passed the announcer's stand, we heard the mission statement of the First Coast Tea Party being projected to the crowd.  We were reminded of the significance of service from this year's guests on the Liberty Wharf :  Lady Liberty, Betsy Ross, George Washington, Benjamin Franklin and Uncle Sam.  They carried the torch of service at their time in our nation's history (in yet another way).

The First Coast Tea Party's tradition following the parade (continued) as we offered prayer at the Memorial Wall and laid a wreath of appreciation for those that have served our country.  Our military has been and continues to be a beacon all over the world.  We were proud to recognize their committment and share in this event that brought others out for the City of Jacksonville's Veterans Day Parade.

I needed the exercise .   It was a fun experience to say the least.    Maybe next time we can get out some small brochures to give out for recruiting?

IT was my "HONOR" to walk in the parade. The many men and women in uniform lining the streets as we walked by kept that lump in my throut all day long.

I especially enjoyed the young men and women in ROTC, the next generation of heros.

A salute to all that worked on the float and to all that walked.

I am proud to be an" American" God Bless the U.S.A.

The Exchange of Words of Appreciation with Fellow  Veterans, a handshake, a glance was all that was needed to bring back moments of History, any pain of History turned right back to pleasure from the smiles that were still on faces long after we on down the Parade route. I would encourage any Veteran to be there next year.

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
