HAS THE CITY COUNCIL ALREADY MADE UP THEIR MIND ON RAISING OUR PROPERTY TAXES?

Take a moment and go to WOKV's website. There is an interesting article about the 9% Property Tax Increase that will be voted on this coming Tuesday night, September 28. Check it out here http://wokv.com/localnews/2010/09/has-council-already-made-up-th.html

We disagree that the City Council members have made up their minds. We believe they REALLY want to do all they can to keep from raising taxes. They just need an army behind them to help them do the right thing.

WHAT CAN YOU DO? TAKE ACTION:

  1. We encourage you to call your City Councilman today and encourage them to Stand Up, Speak Out and Work Together to keep our taxes from being raised another 9%. They raised them 9% last year. Is that acceptable? Can you afford this behavior year after year? Contact your City Councilman today, tomorrow, Monday and Tuesday - every day between now and 5:00 Tuesday. Call them at 630-1377. Be respectful and firm.
  2. PLEASE BE AT THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING TUESDAY, 9/28/10 AT 5:00 There will be a group gathering at Hemming Plaza beginning at 3:30 to walk in front of City Hall with signs about our desire to keep the taxes down. Join us and be ready to head inside together for the 5:00 meeting.
  3. HAND OUT FLYERS "Stop the Tax Hikes" -- beginning today and over the weekend. We have the flyers available at the office. Contact us at 683-3945 to ensure someone is there to serve you. We also have tee shirts with "Don't Raise My Taxes" on the front. These are free to those who will wear them and show up at the City Council meeting.

Good grief! The taxes and fees never end in Jacksonville. I am soooo glad that I live in Clay County. Hopefully Clay will not follow suit. Our property values are going down and the taxes are going up. How does that work? I think some of our leaders need to step down.

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
