FYI: SNOPES SAYS FALSE: UPS UNIFORMS (UNCLASSIFIED) HIGH IMPORTANCE

 Got this a little while ago.  Snopes says it is false and this or things just like it have been floating around since 2003 when UPS drivers were warned to dispose of their uniforms in the prescribed way after UPS uniforms were used for something other than UPS deliveries.  The warning on snopes also said, if you have a doubt about the person who comes to the door, even if they have on a uniform, check for the UPS truck.  UPS employees NEVER come in anything but a UPS truck (NEVER a personal vehicle).  If the person at your door isn't in a UPS truck, it isn't a UPS employee.

Government Warning regarding purchase of UPS uniforms: There

has been a huge purchase, $32,000 worth, of United Parcel Service (UPS)

uniforms on eBay over the last 30 days.  This could represent a serious

threat as bogus drivers (terrorists) can drop off anything to anyone

with deadly consequences! If you have ANY questions when a UPS driver

appears at your door they should be able to furnish VALID I.D.

           

Additionally, if someone in a UPS uniform comes to make a drop off or

pick up, make absolutely sure! they are driving a UPS truck. UPS doesn't

make deliveries or pickups in anything, except a company vehicle. If you

have a problem, call your local law enforcement agency right away!  TAKE

THIS SERIOUSLY! Tell everyone in your office, your family, your friends,

etc. Make people aware so that we can prepare and/or avoid terrorist

attacks on our people!

Actually, supposedly a bunch of UPS uniforms have been purchased on Ebay.....far more than normal and the suggestion is that they will be used for some un-named thing like robbing people or a terrorist act or something.  I think the one incident that did happen were people presenting themselves as UPS delivery and then, robbing people or something and after that UPS drivers/delivery was told to get rid of their uniforms as UPS requires so the uniforms would not be available to use as they had been.  That was 8 years or more ago and still this springs up every so often.  I thought posting it as I have would give everyone a heads up so when they saw it, they would know ahead of time :) since it is going around again right now!
