Electing a President or a Savior?

      Dwight Eisenhower once said, "Never let yourself be persuaded that any one Great Man, any one leader, is necessary to the salvation of America. When America consists of one leader and 158 millon followers, It will no longer be America." Obviously America consists of over 300 million people today but the sentiment is still the same. I'm concerned we are putting all our hope in the election of the next President. While it is clear to conservatives that President Obama must be voted out of office, we must also understand we cannot put all our hopes in one person. That is both unreasonable and dangerous.

      Unreasonable because there is noone on this earth that knows the solutions to all the problems that our country or the world is facing. Politicians keep telling us they have all the right solutions and know how to creat jobs. Government doesn't create anything except more problems. I really don't want the gov't involved in job creation, Health care, car companies, education. In a free society WE solve the problems. All I want is for our federal gov't to stick to what it is constitutionally mandated to do. The president now has to have every answer to every problem and that is impossible.

      Dangerous for obvious reasons. The more we look to the gov't to solve our problems the more dependent we become on gov't. This in turn gives the gov't more power and control over our lives. We always like to talk of America as "the land of the free", but are we really free anymore?

     Our Federal Gov't is massive and out of control. What I am looking for in a Presidential candidate is someone who is going to shrink the size of gov't, get rid of regulations and get out of the way. I don't want anymore gov't "solutions". Let the health care experts solve the healthcare problems, let the car experts solve the car industry problems and let the private sector create the jobs. That is what is going  save our republic  and nothing else.
