Creeping Sharia: NY: @Wegmans Market Creates Sharia-Compliant Checkout Line for Muslim Cashier

This is pretty self explanatory, and if we do not do this for Jewish people who keep Kosher (and have their own markets and foods that they get produced and checked to assure they are Kosher), why should the rest of us have to bend to any religious group who expects everyone to accommodate them. Get a job in a market specific to the belief system you have or work in another line of work instead of a grocery store when you know it will not be a good fit for you and your beliefs. They need to make their own accommodations and not expect everyone to bend to them. They came to this country knowing and understanding what the laws are and what was acceptable in this country................And they have religious freedom inside the law (they can't be killing daughters off or someone who offended them in some way) and we don't want Sharia or to be inconvenienced at the super market  due to someone else's belief system or anywhere else for that matter, so the ball is in the court of the young lady to get a job where she can actually do the job she is hired for without everyone having to rework how they operate the business.  In a store which serves the general public, there should be no special conditions for someone else's beliefs.  Your thoughts?

Wegman’s has put up a sign asking customers buying pork or alcohol not to use a particular checkout line when a Muslim teenager is on duty as the cashier.

More islamization of the marketplace. This is a pattern.

If you dont want to handle meat that’s not halal, work for a Muslim butcher. Don’t take a job at Wegman’s, Wal-mart or Target. But it is not about that. It’s about imposing Islam on non-Muslims. Special accommodations for a “special class.” This is part of a systematic campaign to impose the sharia on the secular marketplace. Muslim workers suing Disney over their sixty-year-old dress code or Muslim cashiers suing Wal-Mart and Target over their refusal to handle meat that is not halal is all part of a much larger supremacist effort. It has succeeded in Europe, which is all but doomed. They mean to replicate it here. This is well documented in my book, Stop the Islamization of America: A Practical Guide to the Resistance.

The media shapes the story like it’s a great thing and oh doesn’t everyone thinks it’s a great idea? No, we don’t.

Thank you for sharing the information Jeanne.  I think some of us certainly wondered about the policy as it appears to be insulting to customers even though the person who dreamed it up certainly didn't think of that.  Fortunately, those who run the chain appear to be someone more in turn to customer service instead of employee service.

Wegmans has shut down the “Halal” Checkout Lane. This is the response from Wegman’s:  " It is not Wegmans’ policy to permit signage like this for any religious or lifestyle reason. The decision to post the sign was made at store level by a single employee, and it has since been reversed. The sign has been removed. We have coached the store on other ways they could have addressed the concerns of this employee, who knew when she took the job that it would include handling these products. We apologize if this has offended anyone.   Jo Natale, director of media relations   Wegmans Food Markets | Consumer Affairs   1500 Brooks Ave. | Rochester, NY | 14603 www.wegmans.com http://atlasshrugs2000.typepad.com/atlas_shrugs/2012/04/afdisioa-applauds-wegmans-repeal-of-sharia-compliant-check-out-lines.html

Agree Jeanne, I don't think I have ever heard of a business that did not focus on customer satisfaction.  In fact most grocery stores are heavy into that since their profit margin is so small............they can't afford to insult or slight customers even those, heaven forbid in America, who buy pork and beer/wine.

Wegmans is likely to find out that customer satisfaction is more important than employee satisfaction.  In this economy it's probably easier to replace employees than to replace customers.

Patricia this is what I mean. This isn't creeping Sharia, it is a business trying to accommodate an employee. They chose to. They are a large chain that is known as the anti-Walmart. Their business model is that their success is tied to employee satisfaction. They train cashiers for 40 hours before they are allowed to meet a customer. And their customers love them back to the tune of 6.9 billion in sales. They have no retirement age. Dommend them, they respect their workers as a business model. Wow.

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
