The Mayor's Race had its own blog this morning and we did not want to miss the hearty congratulations to those who won City Council seats.

We informed the City Council members who voted to raise our taxes that we would see them at the polls.

Last night our endorsed candidate, Matt Schellenberg (R) in City Council District 6 took the seat away from Jack Webb, the City Council President who was leading the city council when our taxes were raised.  The results were:  53% to 47% - a clear victory.

CONGRATULATIONS MATT

We also stood with those who did NOT raise our taxes and voted against their peers.  Clay Yarborough, City Council District 1, was laughed at by some on the city council when he raised questions and voted No on the tax increase.  He WON his re-election by 57.7% to 42.3%.

CONGRATULATIONS CLAY

All those who voted NO to Raise our Taxes won their seats back on the City Council either in the primary or last night.  We are pleased with this outcome.

Michael Corrigan termed out and decided to run for Tax Collector.  He DID vote to raise taxes and received a negative endorsement from us.  He won last night and we are sad about that outcome.  A message to Mr. Corrigan, "We will be watching you and expecting a well run Tax Collectors office or you will be hearing from us."

On a side note:

We did NOT endorse in the City Council at Large 5 race.  Robin Lumb (R) won by 58% to 42% against Donald Foy (NPA) with more than 98,814 votes.  Robin beat out both mayoral candidates with votes cast.  Just an interesting statistic for a race that got no attention from the Obama out-of-towners and had little money.  Not sure what it means and we'll let you decide.

The City Council has been reformed and will have huge political power.  We will be engaged with the City Council members to ensure they hold our Mayor to conservative values and votes.

If you are interested in serving on the City Council Accountability Team of the First Coast Tea Party, please contact our office at (904) 683-3945 and put your name on the list.  If you want to be a part of holding our city leaders accountable, this is the place to do that.

Again, Congrats to the winners.  Get some rest.  You'll need it!

A post, tiny union,  in response to the district 6 race and Webb's loss.

Mr. Webb,

It was not the money that turned the electorate. It WAS the demonstration of elitism, entitlement, and arrogance from both you and your supporters. It does not take a college educated individual to recognize condescending behavior. Also, it does not take a lawyer/attorney to recognize facts and/or distortion of such as you consistently demonstrated when your actions were brought to light. The local media crowned you as a the best candidate, "crowned" being the operative word here, and Duval citizens did not want another royal family member. In addition to the local media, The Concerned Taxpayers of Duval County demonstrated an inability to function without bias and address facts when they failed to endorse Mr. Schellenberg, CTDC rating above 80%, over you, CTDC rating below 30%.

No longer will we be subjected to your bloviating speeches containing no substance. HAVING SAID THAT, a phrase you so love to use, it is my pleasure to bid you "good bye, good luck, and good riddance!"

Vicky, that is awesome! Thank you so much for your help in finding this information and posting it.  My guess is that they will ultimately have it on a spreadsheet, too.  Both will be very useful. I'll delve into it tomorrow.  Umm... I guess since it's now 1:11AM, I'll be doing that today. Hey, it's good to know we have another researcher on the front lines. Welcome!

Thanks, Vicky. I wish someone would get us this data for each of the precincts to give us a general idea what we're up against in each voting district, so we can plan our voter outreach better next time around.  Do you know if it's online? It would be good also to have a map that shows all voting district lines.

We really need to start now for 2012 and it would be good for us to have a big membership drive right away so we'll have time to get our expanded membership ready to hit the ground running.  We know now just how well organized and well funded the other side is, so we need to be ready to do better than they do and beat them at their own game.

Mr. Hogan was hit during the first election by not really stating his position on topics with the other candidates during various popular forums. Thus many Republicans I work with didn't want to vote for him last time and didn't care either way this time. No matter what I said, I only got 2 out of the last 14 people that voted the first round to go again. Over confident and cocky lost this election. I only picked him the first round due to his NRA voting record. We all failed to focus on getting fellow voters to turn out. Compliancy killed us and we failed to get our message out. The weather was perfect and we didn’t show up to the game to win. I believe the election was fair and we should have focused on turn out rather than message since each race was “A or B.” When I say “failed” I am not just dinging the FCTP and Republicans but more so every Conservative or Libertarian who did not vote. We gave it away.
On the other side I really enjoyed my first every FCTP meeting in Arlington where I got to meet Clay Yarborough in person. His professionalism and approachability won my vote that night. He had a very intelligent answer to everything asked of him. At least that race broke my way.
“Now let’s get to work.” …I heard that somewhere before…

According to a tweet two minutes ago, AbelHarding states: "Hogan has called Brown to congratulate him. It's mayor-elect Alvin Brown. #jaxmayor"

This is astonishing, without even the request for a recount in such a close race. I can't believe we worked so hard for a Hogan win, only to have him fork this race over without a fight. I don't yet know what the vote margin was or the vote count that was certified, but it had to have been very close.  It's insane to not ask for a recount or an audit of both the vote and the new registrations that have occurred with the help of out-of-state SEIU and Organizing for America (ACORN), especially over the last six to 12 months. What if George W. Bush had just meekly and politely given in in 2000? We'd have had 8 years of Al Gore and his global warming lunacy.  Do you believe Alvin Green would have conceded so easily?  You just don't make such an important decision that quickly... you take time and consider all your options.

This makes no sense and I hope it's been reported in error.

Roberto, having worked in advertising for 5 years, I also know that negative advertising, particularly right before an election, is not what we want or what will work for the product we are advertising, and that would be our carefully examined and endorsed candidates in the final sprint to election day and its end results.  We don't get do-overs after the final vote.

Naturally, we want to put our candidate's good points, accomplishments and beliefs forward and not generate negative publicity in the run-up to an election.  The timing was wrong for armchair quarterbacking... and timing is extremely important in advertising, along with the content of the ad and showcasing of the quality of the product. We're lucky in advertising if the viewer spends 8 to 12 seconds looking at our customer's ad.

Further, negativism doesn't help when you're trying to motivate volunteers who are working for our endorsed candidates.  So, it's not a good idea for anyone to come on this website and lick the red off our candy or diminish our candidates and our work, which is very important and effective as is shown by our success record.

We can't win them all, but we can sure be caught trying.  And, I'm certain all of our members would rather everyone work with us and not against us. We welcome you to do just that. We don't always agree with each other, which is normal, but we try to disagree agreeably and keep all Tea Party patriots moving toward meeting our overall goals, as well as our time deadlines. Just work with us, we're not against you.  I don't know who deleted your comments.  But, as an advertising expert, you know that words are powerful and they can be used to promote a product or idea or as a weapon to disadvantage the product or idea.

We haven't turned a blind eye to anything and we're aware that no candidate's election campaign is perfect. And there's no way we're going to sit and nitpick our endorsed candidates' campaigns when we can be proactively working our hardest to get them elected for the reasons we endorsed them in the first place, after going through a long, deliberative process to qualify them. That works for us. Whether you support conservatives or liberals, that's your choice.  But you will find that most of us here are conservatives who support conservative candidates and the principles and goals of this Tea Party. And we will continue to do that with a positive attitude.

I was shocked at your charges that your posying was removed-Iwould invite you to provide proof of your charges-unless you used crude speech or defamed someone I defend the integrity of The Tea Party.

As to your modest claim of divine insight as to the future success or failure of any business I

am keenly interested in talking with you about consulting with my investment group. We have no one in our group  with talent

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
