Vote on the motion to proceed was 47 to 53.
Six Democrats and all 41 Republicans voted Yes.

Senator Rockefeller said that he was voting Yes because “I don’t want EPA turning out the lights on America.” 53 of his Democratic disagreed.

They have voted to give EPA the authority to turn out the lights on America. They must now take full responsibility for the economic consequences of EPA regulation of greenhouse gas emissions.

Ladies and Gentlemen: The Government once again has taken control of one more piece of your life. Your freedom is at stake.

Watch your lights bill soar - President Obama said if this passed that would happen. You believe him, don't you?

Tell others to join the Tea Party Movement and get busy unseating everyone who voted for this bill and for the healthcare bill. Immigration and Financial "reform" are next.

Yes it is a very sad day in America. B.O. is a man of his word, if you listened to his speaches and his interviews, he is doing exactly what he has said he would do. This is truly a sad day for the United States and for the state of Florida, I speak from personal experience If Obama's predictions about cost are true then I for one will probably go broke. The cost of energy is already sky rocketing and one wonders how much more of a debt load that madman thinks the average America can bear. Cap and Trade (better called crap and betrayed) is insanity at best and pure treason at worst.Obama and his cohorts are trying to collapse to economy and now it looks as though they have a chance. While the public frets over the oil spill in the Gulf ,turncoats like our current head backstabber here in Florida, Mr.C. Crist and crooks from the Windy City of Corruption are betraying the nation and selling us and the future generations of Americans in to a form of coerced servitude that it will take generations to repair ,if ever.
Wake up America can't you see whats happening? How blind are we? A man from the shadows has completely lied and cheated his way in to the top position in this country and were allowing him to destroy and belittle whats taken the blood, sweat and sacrifice of all true Americans hundreds of years to build.

We have silently stood by and allowed this covert alien to the America ethos ,and fellow travelers like him, to corrupt our children through the supposed public schools and sat by as he and his cronies have lied about everything he promised to a believing gullible public with the exception of one thing and that is being wrought as I speak, the FUNDAMENTAL CHANGE (read that as destruction) of our nation ,our culture and if given the chance even our the bonds of our family's and our once proud heritage. Don't think they have any respect for the bonds of friendship or citizenship let alone the blood ties of family, they are usurpers bent on enslavement of those they consider beneath them, persons of faith, believers in true charity, and followers of conscious moral certitude. They would replace the values we hold sacrosanct with pornography, deviancy, poverty, profanity, and immorality for the sake of buying away the soul of our nation. They must be stopped!
This assault on the America public must stop ,We ,all of us must pull together before it's a completed action of converting us to third-world status and enslaving us to a state that none of us, other than refuges, were born into or have ever known. The Progressives have been working at this fundamental change since the days of Woodrow Wilson and they are about to succeed. My question to you is what are YOU going to do about it?

Now is the time for action we must mobilize and win this fall. We must defeat Liers and Turncoats like Crist, Obama, Pelosie, Boxer, Nelson,Clinton, Gore, and Reed, if not for our sake then for the sake of our children and their children. If we don't stop now whats afoot in D.C. and here at home then we might as well just ask the brothers Castro to come on up and step in to power because at least they have leadership ability and haven't pretended to be anything other than the ruthless despots that they are, ones of the type and nature that we so readily seek to emulate with the clowns we have elected and are allowing to destroy our state and our nation.

Now is the time to take back our nation and our pride and reassert morality and dignity to our peoples, eliminate the usurpers, vote them out because if we fail the price we pay will be the highest cost humankind has ever seen.Get out the vote ,mobilize and speak up, take back what is rightfully ours.

Ron, the only hope is that this will anger enough additional people that the die will be cast in November and most of these slime balls will be out. Even Obama doesn't speak with great enthusiasm when he talks about the economy is improving. I think he must know that we all know he is lying right through his teeth as he has from the day he took office. Nothing is improving, and since he keeps everything in total turmoil at all times, it isn't going to improve until we get him and all these congressmen and senators out. This little bill will just be one more nail in their coffins.

Robert, many of them put the same effort into voting as they did up in SC on Tuesday when the democrats elected a man who paid the 10,000 out of his pocket to get put on the ballot without ever campaigning or anyone knowing a single thing about him. The guess now is that he was the first name of the list of candidates and that was how he won the primary without any of the democrats who voted for him knowing one single thing about him. No one had interviewed him or even knew who he was until he won the primary, and now he is running against the republican for congress for the district. Tell me that some of these voters have a clue what is going on......they don't.
