Boehner Caves In to Dems AGAIN!

Here we go again.  To say the least, my best friend said at the very start Boehner was the worst choice that could have been made for speaker, because he has no backbone,  .................... so here we go again.

Once again Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-OH) caved in to Democrats and once again he betrays the Republican Party, his campaign promises and the American public.

As always, the Democrats just want to keep writing checks on an overdrawn bank account with the idea that someone else will have to worry about paying for it. But early on in the dealings for an extension of the payroll tax cuts, House Republicans said that the only way they would pass a measure to extend the benefits to American workers is to counter the expense of the measure by cutting an equal amount of spending.

Staying true to his track record since taking over the position of Speaker of the House, Boehner did not stand the ground that Republicans and the nation wanted him to, but he caved in to the demands of the Democrats and agreed to extend the payroll tax cuts and unemployment benefits without providing any means of paying for it.

Chairman of the Joint Economic Committee Rep Kevin Brady (R-TX) said the GOP compromised because they believe they made progress by getting the Democrats to agree to a year extension to the payroll tax cuts and unemployment benefits even though they waffled on their demand to pay for it.

The current payroll tax cuts come directly out of Social Security which is already in dire financial straits and can ill afford another year of being robbed to pay for this. Brady said they will work on a plan to pay for this later, probably after a new president is elected. That sounds no different than an addict saying they’ll quit next week when things are different.

No wonder the American people have no confidence in Congress and the newly empowered Republican House. I truly feel that we need to replace the GOP leadership in the House with some of the freshman congressmen who have been trying to fulfill their campaign promises and do what the American people mandated they do. That leadership replacement needs to start with John Boehner from Ohio.
