He rightly noted that both political parties bear some responsibility for running up the federal debt – so it’s up to both to end this stalemate. Since the President's speech I've heard from thousands and thousands of folks who responded to his call. I also sensed growing support in Congress to avert a first-ever government default early next week. Thus I’m optimistic about quick passage of some $2.7 trillion in savings and spending cuts – cuts that wouldn’t hurt Medicare, Medicaid or Social Security. Such a solution strikes me as a fair compromise – and, exactly the kind of thing I think we need right now. If you want to pass along your thoughts, just click here to send me an email. Here is my reply:

 

Giving YOU, other members of congress and/or the president ability to further borrow against the futures of myself and wife, our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren would be TOTAL insanity.

Default is nothing but a threat and I hope, if it happens, congress will have the intestinal fortitude to impeach and remove the current America hating moron. We have more than ample funds coming into DC on a weekly basis to pay ALL of our outstanding debts.

This entire charade is nothing but. It is theater designed to scare the ignorant, so I'm sure you're shaking in your taxpayer purchased boots.

You and every corrupt politician like you have proven, beyond any possible shadow of doubt, you are far too irresponsible to be allowed to borrow against the citizen's futures.

Not only do we need to make sure the debt ceiling is NOT raised this time, we need to make sure it is reduced annually, as the debt is paid off, and a Constitutional Amendment is put in place to make sure idiots like you are NEVER again given the opportunity to irresponsibly spend the American citizens tomorrows for the votes you lust after today.
