Arlington Neighborhood Teaparty Meeting

Kudos to Patricia McBride for putting together a great Arlington Neighborhood Teaparty meeting last night, we heard from Sylvia Millard, president of the Arlington Woman’s Club and Ann Burt of Old Arlington, Inc. The “Home Run” of the evening was provided by our featured speaker City Councilwoman Glorious Johnson; she educated us on the ethics commission bill she penned and then diverged into many other topics we Teapartiers are concerned with. An added bonus was the presence of Mr. James Lafferty of The Policy Communications Group, who is assisting Glorious in deciding whether she should attempt to dethrone sitting U.S. Congresswoman Corrine Brown. Mr. Lafferty served in the Regan administration in addition to having appeared on the Glen Beck show twice and is a noted antiradical Islamist; he refers to himself as a “Radicalized Conservative.”

I have takeaways on the evening, Apathy is the friend of the Unethical, and Political Correctness is the Enabler of the Socialist, Communist, and Islamist; but Apathy presents the “Radicalized Conservative” the opportunity to have this city run in the interests of “We the People.” Anything we wish to accomplish within this city government can be had with Ten City Counsel Votes.  Each of us can influence five votes (four At-Large and one District) twelve calls to a District, gets their attention. Twenty calls to an At-Large get their attention, thirty citizens all taking three minutes apiece on the same issue at a City Council meeting, GETS THEIR ATTENTION!

Thanks for the great commentary on our meeting.  We were certainly busy and don't know that we can have a repeat this month in intensity :).  Meant to ask you if you would like a few minutes on the front end of the meeting to encourage everyone to come on Friday?  Thought you might and will touch bases with you tomorrow night if you plan to be there.  Friday night is drawing in on us really, really fast!
