AMERICA AT RISK--THE WAR WITH NO NAME

Everyone should view this DVD hosted by Newt and Callista Gingrich.

Of course Democrats and some clergy are not willing to open their minds to the reality of what is happening under our noses throughout America.  Even our former city council and mayor, our educational institutions had and still have their heads in the sand.  This DVD should be a wake up call to all the weaker links of humanity throughout our society!

Am I still being "American" if my magic Mormon underwear is made in China?

Paul my ability to overlook hypocrisy seems to have regressed to that of a fourteen year old. Beverly says peopleshould dress like "Americans" and we are all supposed to just accept the religious intolerance of people.
Sorry that is not me. My stomach aches when I read these things. My head splits wide open and incredulity pours out.
But in the interest of fairness here goes, Beverly what examples of creeping Sharia are you referring to?

Amanda, I am all for free and open discussion and debate of the relative merits and credability of various religious beliefs but stop somewhere short of branding and lopping off ears of persons with whom i might disagree. My primary problem with Islam is not the veil, but their general refusal to engage in discussion of the pros and cons of the merits and veracity of their beliefs on an equal footing. Mormans have a differant form of avoidance consisting of borrowing traditional Christian terminology and applying a differant definition to it, but not admitting to the differant definition in discussion. Therefore, you have Mitt saying that we all believe in "God" while talking about a corporal being who lives on the planet Kolob, is 6 feet tall and is married to Mrs. God, all the while orthodox Christians are misled into thinking that he is talking about God the eternal member of the Trinity. I am not sure which approach I respect the least.

Even more awesome Beverly, the fashion po-po. Let's all get offended when people wear clothes that we don't like.
And, again not for nothing, just what are "American" clothes????
But in some religions, clothing is part of the deal. For centuries, Catholic women were readily identifed on Sunday morning in their veils. Nuns in the their very un-American habits, penguin suits I believe. Priests in their vestments, preachers in their robes, Jews with their Yamikas, Sikhs with their turbans, Quakers in their quakerclothes. Amish and Mennonites in their old country clothing and caps. Beards by many different religions. Baptists for years thought it sinful for women to wear pants, prideful to wear a short dress, and Pentacostals to this day feel that way.
So get back to me on that American way of dressing.
Paul you are true, but everyone who came after the Puritans has been abused about their religion and been abused for it.

Again, I agree, however I am not talking religion.  Attire is not religion.

The hallmark of America is religious freedom. That is why my ancestors came here, and why many others did also. Some were sent here directly from prisonment for maintaining non-conforming religious beliefs. The idea that someone who comes to America is supposed to subscribe to the "American" religion (whichever one that is) is anti-thetical to our tradition and history. There were Jewish merchants in New Amsterdam, Moslem harpooners on Nantuchet whale ships, 10 percent of black slaves were moslem, Catholics in Rhode Island, Puritans in New England, Calvinists in the backwoods, Anglicans along the tidewater, Quakers in the mid atlantic states, Lutherns in the Delaware valley, all coming to the land of the Indian Anamists. We have had a number of our own invented religions, including Mormanism, Spiritualism, Pentacostalism,  Christian Science, Scientology, etc.. The bottom line is that we Christians are to use Jesus' methods of conversion to our way of thinking by peaceful persuasion, not by force and coertion. No one has ever sincerely changed their way of belief  because they had to, only because they want to. In America, there is no "standard" religion or form of religious expression. Much in the Churches is arguably not even Christian related.

So Beverly, after your experience in Morocco, what, it is now your turn to be offended? You are bascially saying to Muslim women who dress in thier religious garb, " you Muslims, you no good."

Are you really this blind that you cannot seethe hypocrisy in what you wrote?

Comment by BEVERLY A. THORNTON on September 9, 2012 at 9:20pm

I agree with you.  However, my post regarding the DVD seems to be missing the point that we are gradually losing our freedoms, financially and militarily, and not being firm with the rule of law of OUR country. Sharia is creeping in little by little, it is now in finances in one of our states with a middle man making the loans interest free.  Why is it people come to America to be free and then they want to change America (sharia law) to what they wanted to be free of.  I will say I am very offended when the ladies dress in their full native garb including face veil.  If they want to live in America, be American.  When we are in their countries we have to adhere to their ways. Women cannot drive, must wear head scarfs or be covered from head to toe.  I hope you can understand a bit how many of us feel.  When living in Morroco as a young girl I did not realize how hated we were when we were there.  We did nothing to offend, were gracious and kind and charitable and when we left our dwelling they said "you Americans no good".   Talk about double standards, that took the cake.

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
