A THANK YOU FROM CITY COUNCIL MEMBER, BILL BISHOP

We received the following Thank You from Bill Bishop, a member of the City Council. We wanted to share this with you since you are the ones who made the effort to show up and voice your concerns. The next City Council Meeting is NEXT TUESDAY, Oct 12 at 5:00 p.m. Please contact your City Council Member between now and then and ask him/her what is on the agenda and listen intently to how they are going to vote. One big item is putting Ethics back into the City Charter. (Now we know what happened to our city...they took Ethics out!)

Keep the pressure on and do what you can to remain vigilant about spending and special incentives for buddies that happen at all levels of government.

Here's the link to contact your City Council member. Be there next week if you can and the next and the next and the next. http://www.coj.net/City+Council/default.htm

FROM BILL BISHOP...

Billie: I would like to thank all of the FCTP members that voiced their opinion over the past few months about the new budget and that came to the city council meeting last week during the budget debate. While I was not pleased with the outcome I am very happy that so many people got involved. My hope is that this involvement continues through the next election cycle and beyond. This is extremely important if we are to improve how our city operates and if we are to get our fiscal house in order. Attached is an op/ed piece I have written outlining my thoughts on the current state of budgetary affairs and possible ways to make progress going forward. I would appreciate any comments from you and the members.

Agree! Great idea Ed. If they were serious about the budget you would be invited in to do just that.

Thanks for sharing that Patricia. I can and do live without the union letting me know how much I am worth. It's time all unions either get to the center or get out.

Joe, some of the surrounding areas actually cut their budget and took into consideration the economic conditions right now. One police department also withdrew from their union and will work with the city directly.

I'll join Ed Malin's team also - message me, Ed, for my email addy.
We had a drawn out "debate" on another thread, but the key here is spending. If councilmen insist on their pet projects, they MUST be payed for. Don't necessarily think a council mewmber is "good" because he voted against the tax hike. I'm told more than one did that, but refused to trim one red nickel off their pet projects that caused the NEED for the tax hike.

WHILE THERE ARE SOME COUNCIL MEMBERS WHO MAY TRY TO FOLLOW TEA PARTY TENETS REGARDING TAXATION AND SPENDING, THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH TO HOLD DOWN EITHER. WE NEED TO ENCOURAGE TEA PARTY MEMBERS TO RUN AGAINST THOSE COUNCIL MEMBERS WHOSE GENERAL VIEWS ARE NOT THOSE OF THE TEA PARTY.

WE HAVE SOME BRILLIANT PATRIOTS IN THE TEA PARTY WHO ARE FAR MORE QUALIFIED TO CONTROL THE CITY EXPENDITURES AND HOLD TAXATION DOWN. RATHER THAN SELECTING THOSE WHO ARE PRESENTED TO US FOR APPROVAL, LET US SUPPLY OUR OWN CANDIDATES......

Thanks so much for your efforts--I would be happy to join Ed Malins audit team and spend

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
