I am mad as hell and can’t think of another way to say this.  I am mad as hell!  (That's the bad language)

 

Do you think it is right or appropriate to send OUR Federal dollars to a Texas middle and elementary school to teach children Arabic?

 

Read this carefully and then contact your Representative and Senators (go to www.libertycentral.org) and tell them to do what they have to do to stop this insanity!

 

That’s their job and you want them to do their job.  Send them the link and ask them “What are you going to do about this?”  Wait for an answer and then call them every other day to see what they have done.

 

Read the Press Release on the Mansfield ISD website here:  http://www.mansfieldisd.org/departments/communications/news/10-11/f...   They are backing down but that’s still not enough.  We want them to return the money to the Federal government now.  Contact the School Board and tell them to return our money and never again ask for Federal dollars to fund programs like this.  In fact, don’t ask for Federal money, period.  We in Florida do not want to send our dollars to Texas to teach Arabic! 

 

Let’s stop this insanity of spending OUR money for programs like this.  If they want to teach about a culture – how about the American culture?  How about the “Christian culture” since the “Arabic culture” was one of their missions of this program.

 

If they want to educate more people in the Arabic language, do it in college and let the students pay for it themselves. 

 

You get the drift – sorry – but this really set me off.  If it doesn’t tick you off, pinch yourself and see if you are still alive.

It is more about the fact we can't talk about our own culture and now they want to talk about Arabic culture.  I am growing weary of this rhetoric.  It is a slap in our face when our own history books are being rewritten to take out things they don't like and using our money to teach another culture.  I guess you can say I am just fed up with all of this.  You reach the end of your rope when you learn from a tea party member today about our own textbooks being changed and then we get something like this.  When will it stop?

Billie, I agree with you most of the time, however, not sure on this one.  First off, we have always taught foriegn languages in our schools, and much of the time at an early age.  Even if you disagree with it being Arabic, it's still ones right as an American to make that choice, and as a parent of a child, to choose what language for your child.  Second, if we cannot understand a language, how are we supposed to know what they are saying about us?  I agree that this is probably one area where Federal spending should be cut...teach your kids at home until they are older, or pay for the lessons yourself.  But to just say don't send them federal money due to it being Arabic...come on...really?
