Hold on to your wallets

If you live in Camden County, Georgia, get ready to hold on to your wallets.

Faced with a change in how property insurance (ISO) rates are computed, the county's commissioners can either do nothing and allow its residents to pay the increased fees or hire more sworn firefighters and bring their already small department up to the number the new regulations require to keep property insurance rates the same.

I'm so excited!

As of today, August 12, we've FINALLY paid our obligations to the local, state and Federal governments.



After today through the end of the year, the money we earn is really ours. OURS! To spend however we see fit. ON WHAT WE WANY TO SPEND OUR PAYCHECKS ON!



Like food, utilities, rent or the mortgage. Gas for the car, clothes and shoes for the kids.



HAPPY TAX FREEDOM DAY, EVERYONE!

On second thought ...

The Capitol switchboard has been jammed all afternoon. At 6:10 this evening I finally got something besides a busy signal. After the line rang about a dozen times, I asked the person who answered to connect me with Senator Harry Reid's office.



Last week the House passed its Cut Cap and Balance bill. Senator Reid tabled it as soon as it reached the Senate, keeping it from being debated much less voted on. My call to his office was to ask him to bring it up for debate.
