Event Description

Monday there is an REC meeting at 6:00 PM (5:30 to 6:00 PM is social hour), and a member of the FCTP, Michael Jackson, is active in the REC and has been asked to set up training for committee people for the REC and to put in place the mechanism for organizing precincts and getting the vote out for the 2012 election (which is what training should accomplish). This will be a crucial 1st step for this process, and I am asking for your support for Michael Jackson. A good showing at this meeting and those that follow, is very important. If you are an independent or a democrat, you are still welcome at the meeting as REC meetings are open to the public, and you can be involved in helping get out the vote to defeat President Obama in the 2012 election. Help from everyone who wishes to see this president out of office is much needed. For those that are republicans, please consider becoming a member of the REC and a committee person for your precinct as many precincts need a committee person; if you can't become a committee person, you can still help with the organization of your precinct, and we need everyone's help to bring this about even if it is only working your own neighborhood.

It is imperative we begin now, and I have included a cut and paste below from the Obama camp that I will share with you, so you understand the Obama machine has already begun the above process (I was put on an Email list when I wrote to Obama about an issue............and was not able to get them take my name off their list).

Patricia --

A lot of the news this week has been about our campaign's fundraising results, but if you watched
Messina's presentation on Wednesday, you heard him say the metrics we're most focused on are the numbers of people who are building this organization and bringing new supporters into our campaign.

This Saturday's Day of Action is the single biggest milestone yet in that effort. Volunteers in all 50 states will be knocking on doors and making calls to recruit supporters -- doing the organizing work that is the real story of this campaign.
From their website:
“I’m In” Afternoon Phone Bank in Jacksonville (Canvass)
This summer, we’re spending time building our organization by reaching out to every supporter possible. We’re making phone calls and asking folks if they’re “IN” for 2012. We’ll be taking action in Jacksonville at the local DEC office to make sure that we’ve talked to every person in our community and told them all about our campaign and the teams we’re building. But we can’t do it without you—we need you and your neighbors to come out and join us! We’ll provide all the training and materials you’ll need. Please bring a cell phone and charger if possible (limited phones will be provided for those who are unable to bring their own).

Collecting for our Bahamian Neighbors

Good morning!

We spent last week wondering if we would be hit by Hurricane Dorian.  Thankfully we were spared.  However, the Bahamas were not so lucky.  I am sure you have seen the devastation there.

My daughter has a friend (a nurse) who is arranging multiple trips to the area and will be collecting supplies to take to those areas.  If you would like to help, we will collect things at…
