A funeral will be held on Friday for Deputy Darren Goforth in Houston, Texas, beginning at 11:00am CST on Friday. At that time, we are calling for our nation to pray for Deputy Goforth’s family and for all those who protect and serve our nation. My team will be praying at Watermark Church in Dallas, Texas. If you are in the area, meet them there. I encourage you to pray together at the churches in your community. Now is the time. We must unite in prayer

Curious about the design of these cards? They are patterned after a prayer card Gen. George Patton distributed to his Third Army in December 1944. When bad weather hindered the western allies’ efforts to hold back an invasion from Germany, Gen. Patton called the head chaplain, James H. O’Neill, requesting a prayer for weather. Unable to find a formal prayer of that kind in his books, O’Niell composed one of his own, pleading The Almighty for good weather so they could accomplish their task, which he typed on a note card card.
