Why is FBI Helping Hamas?

Last Wednesday, the same day the Center for Security Policy called for the firing of counterterrorism czar John Brennan for gross ignorance and incompetence for failing to understand the threat from Islamic jihadis, the FBI’s Headquarters (FBIHQ) and the FBI’s Chicago Field Office were caught between revealing their complete incompetence, and engaging in what one government official called “an act of treason” by defending a senior Hamas operative.

Two days prior to this, investigative reporter and expert on the Islamic movement Patrick Poole first detailed how the FBI invited and allowed Sheikh Kifah Mustapha, a known Hamas operative, to attend the FBI’s Citizen’s Academy, a six-week program giving Americans an insight into the FBI and the U.S. government.

As a part of this program, Mustapha was given a tour of FBI Headquarters, the FBI training academy in Quantico, Va., the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC), and other government spaces. Poole followed that article up with detailed accounts of Musatapha and the FBI’s reaction to this story.

Mustapha is an unindicted co-conspirator in the largest terrorism financing trial in U.S. history (U.S. v. Holy Land Foundation), where Holy Land Foundation (HLF) and its leadership were proven to be Hamas. Mustapha was previously a top official at HLF.

A senior government official told Poole that Mustapha’s name and details of his Hamas affiliation are in FBI and NCTC systems (watch-lists), raising the obvious question: How could this happen?

Hamas, by the way, is a terrorist organization, created out of the Palestinian Muslim Brotherhood.

FBI officials at FBIHQ and the Chicago Field Office called the allegations that Mustapha was even present at NCTC “fabricated” despite a photograph of him taken with the NCTC logo in the background. Numerous calls to the FBI by citizens and reporters last week revealed the FBI was scrambling to get their story straight. By the end of Wednesday, the FBI’s press office in Chicago was not only admitting the veracity of the report, it was defending Kifah Mustapha as an upstanding citizen with whom they worked closely.

The FBI confirmed Mustapha attended the Citizen’s Academy and was given access to numerous government facilities that included FBIHQ, NCTC, and the FBI Training Academy in Quantico. The media representative at the FBI Chicago office vigorously defended supporting Mustapha by saying he had never been convicted of a crime, thus he warrants access to sensitive government spaces. Former chief for counterterrorism investigations at the New York U.S. Attorney’s Office wrote on this incident, as did Bill Gertz of the Washington Times.

I believe the Muslim Brotherhood’s strategic document, “An Explanatory Memorandum” calls this “Civilization-Jihad” by our own hands.

The obvious question most Americans are asking is “How could this happen?” The answer, unfortunately, is that this type of activity is going on all the time within the FBI, DHS, and elsewhere in our government—specifically, inside the organizations charged with protecting us.

This behavior by these agencies is the direct result of the long-term information campaign by the Muslim Brotherhood in the United States which has co-opted our leadership into believing the Muslim leadership in America is pro-American and peaceful, despite a mountain of evidence to the contrary.

It is also the result of a failure of our federal law enforcement and intelligence agencies to give their employees even a basic education into the Muslim Brotherhood, Hamas, and the doctrine that THEY say drives them—Sharia (Islamic Law).

If the HLF trial clearly demonstrated one fact, it was that nearly every major Muslim organization in the United States is a part of the Muslim Brotherhood’s movement, and most are directly controlled by the Brotherhood itself.

The Brotherhood seeks to overthrow the Constitution and implement Islamic law in the U.S. by co-opting our leadership into believing a counterfactual understanding of Islam and the true nature of the Muslim Brotherhood (MB), and is, therefore, inherently hostile to America. Apparently, because they are “nice” to our leaders and wear expensive suits, they must be out to help us. Therefore, to offend them is the gravest of missteps for employees of these agencies. That is actually what current agents and analysts have said drives FBI and DHS leadership.

This might be a clue that our leaders are not up on counterintelligence operations anymore, and are putting being liked in front of defending this nation. Maybe CSP should have called for the firing of FBI Director Robert Mueller and Homeland Secretary Janet Napolitano as well.

Since 9/11, the FBI director has continued to allow FBIHQ and Field Offices around the country to work with and openly support Muslim Brotherhood/Hamas front groups and individuals. Back in 2002, Mueller invited Hamas operative Nihad Awad of CAIR (a Hamas front as demonstrated in the HLF case) into FBIHQ for a meeting with him and his staff.

Currently, the FBI works openly with the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), a known Muslim Brotherhood front, proven Hamas support entity, and unindicted co-conspirator at the HLF trial. The new president of ISNA, Imam Mohammed Majid, has previously received awards from the FBI for being a helpful citizen. When Americans ask “How can this happen?” it is hard to imagine an answer that begins to approach anything logical.

From current and retired FBI and DHS agents/analysts/employees around the country, we have come to learn the incident with Sheikh Kifah Mustapah, while dangerously appalling, occurs all too often inside the organizations charged with defending our Constitution and protecting Americans from the very people with whom FBI and DHS leadership continue to have coffee and tea.

Here are a few examples at the FBI, DHS and elsewhere that are indicative the Muslim Brotherhood’s “outreach” to our government only serves to subvert our leaders, make America less safe, and put our people at grave risk:

• FBI and DHS “outreach” to and work with Muslim Brotherhood organizations including CAIR, ISNA, the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC), the Muslim Student Association (MSA), and others, who are all part of the Muslim Brotherhoods larger movement—i.e. hostile to the United States.

• FBI leaders are given financial awards for “outreach” to the Muslim community—NOT for arresting bad guys.

• CAIR and other known Hamas entities have trained FBI, DHS, and even Defense Department employees on Islam and combating terrorism. I suspect these classes were not too valuable in helping us identify and target the enemy. Just a hunch.

• Recent meetings with Napolitano included leaders from ISNA, MAS, and other known Muslim Brotherhood groups.

• FBI General Counsel Valerie Caproni actually has meetings at FBIHQ with the ACLU and several representatives from MB front groups to get their input on how the latest attorney general guidelines will affect investigative guideline for FBI agents pursuing terrorism cases. (Did we do this with Mafia dons?)

• The FBI director has presented awards to several senior Muslim Brothers at FBI Headquarters, to include senior Muslim Brother Imam Yahya Hendi—Georgetown University’s imam.

• The DHS created the “Combating Violent Extremism Working Group” to advise the DHS secretary on ways to minimize “Violent Extremism” in America (despite the fact our enemies use the term “jihadis” for describing themselves). The CVEWG is made up of one Christian, one Jew, and ten Muslims. Several of the Muslims are known Hamas members/supporters including the current president of ISNA, Imam Majid. (You can’t make this stuff up.)

• The FBI leadership at field offices around the country have actually called imams to inform them of pending FBI raids of houses of members of the imam’s mosque as a sign of “good will.”

From this limited list, it is now a bit more understandable to see how: (1) An al Qaeda and Hamas operative (Abdurahman Alamoudi) was the man who created the Muslim Chaplain Program for our Department of Defense; (2) the first imam to pray at the U.S. Capitol (Siraj Wahhaj) is an unindicted co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing; (3) the new “Human Rights Commissioner” for Jacksonville, Fla., (Parvez Ahmed) is a senior Hamas leader in the U.S.; the Congressional Muslim Staffers Association’s (CMSA) first invitee to pray at the U.S. Capitol was al Qaeda leader (now fugitive and on a “capture or kill” list) Anwar al Awlaki; and the list goes on.

Nowhere in our government, among counterterrorism and counterintelligence employees (agents, analyst, etc) is the comprehensive threat from the Muslim Brotherhood, or even who/what the Brotherhood is, systematically taught.

This might explain the astounding ignorance on the part of Director Mueller and Secretary Napolitano who both continue to meet with front groups for our enemies. Our sources inside FBIHQ and DHS confirm that a small number of agents and analysts understand this threat, but are continuously rebuked by senior FBI/DHS leaders who prefer outreach to Hamas front groups over “protecting and defending” the American people as their Oaths of Office require.

At what point do these leaders get held accountable? After the Mumbai attacks in India, the minister of Internal Security resigned and stated he was responsible for the nation’s security and had failed. No one inside the U.S. government has been fired or held accountable for the catastrophic failure of our American security apparatus since 9/11.

John Brennan, the senior advisor on counterterrorism matters to the President is the captain of this ship. In the Navy, when a ship’s captain runs aground he is relieved of command immediately—whether he was asleep in his rack in the middle of the night or on the bridge. Seems like Director Mueller and Secretary Napolitano should see the same fate. Termination from their current positions.

Americans, YOU are the government. You must hold those charged with protecting you accountable for doing so.
