Ronald Reagan's State of the Union: 30 Years Later

In preparation for tonight’s State of the Union address I thought you might find this video of Ronald Reagan interesting and motivating.  In it you will hear:

  • President Reagan speaking about years of out of control spending
  • His recovery plan which included massive tax cuts
  • The desire to do achieve energy independence
  • The lack of trust between the citizens and its government
  • How they had reduced regulations
  • How much waste and fraud they had uncovered in our government
  • He talks about mobilizing the private sector to help solve social problems
  • How he proudly talks about our military that ensures peace while wearing their uniforms with pride

Here we are again.  Will politicians ever stop and look back at the wisdom left behind for them to use?  Or, do they want to continue down this path to Change that has done nothing but change our world for the worst?  Three State of the Unions later under this administration, America is no better off and the lie that our economy is improving does not resonate with the people who are unemployed, watching their food and gas prices rise while banks are being shut down on a weekly basis and employers are still laying off more workers.

Words are hollow.  Results are power.

It’s time to get to work and restore the Republic again.  Want to know how?  Just ask Ronnie – he’ll tell you!

Everybody, do read the article at Town Hall by Dennis Praeger today that reveals why we don't see a wide-angle view of what is on the wall behind the president as he speaks at the State of the Union address.  Behind him is chiseled the giant-size words "In God We Trust" and in front of him is a large statue of Moses, both of which are daily reminders to all members of the U.S. Congress that this country was founded as a Christian nation and gives the lie to the secular assumption that "separation of church and state" exists somewhere in our Constitution or our laws---when it does not.  When the president speaks tonight, the secular media will not show the American people either of these Christian religious symbols and I know I have never seen them shown in any media.

How totally diffrent the two presidents, Regan who was a true patroit, that understood the mistrust and out of controll spending, then Obama, who is all knowing you just sit down shut up and well run the show. How we wish for another Regan! I dont know if you watched Fox news but the Tea Party is too far right according to the left. Well see who is too radical in comming months.

As you already imply in your rhetorical question, Ed, Ronnie Reagan was a natural, extemporaneous speaker who spoke with humility, humor and common sense we could all identify with.  He always appealed to the greater good and our basic human values and would never have dreamed of speaking down to us.  Would that we had a president now who possessed Reagan's values and leadership qualities that enabled him to put into effect workable solutions that benefitted the entire country and all of us who loved it as much as he did.

Here's one for the GIPPER, in the hope that election 2012 will bring us a president like him who puts our government, its Constitution, its founding principles, and the American first and foremost.

RYAN NICHOLS - Hardened Criminal?? Seriously??

If you're not already aware. This is what's going on in DC while dangerous criminals are allowed back out on the streets.  It's horrifying that this is happening to our citizens and veterans for protesting the hijacking of our election process. This is still happening! They are STILL being tortured and treated like full on terrorists.

You may not be aware of the typical things they're forced to go through...…
