We are very close to adding the State of Florida to the American Laws for American Courts “win” column! We can do it—but we need your help. This week we truly need “all hands on deck.” We have learned that this week, the full Senate is slated to consider Senator Alan Hays’ legislation, SB1360. Due to your push in the Florida House of Representatives, and Rep. Larry Metz’s effective leadership, the American Laws for American Courts legislation passed the Florida House last week, by a vote of 92-24. In order to finish the job, we must see the Senate bill, SB1360, brought to the Senate floor and passed as well. Last week our focus was on Senate Budget Committee. The bill has continued to move through the process, and our focus this week must be on the FULL FLORIDA SENATE. Every member of the Senate must hear clearly and often this week that their constituents want SB1360 passed and passed NOW. Starting today and repeating every day this week, we need you to contact your State Senator (and as many other Senators as you can) to express your strong support for SB1360 and to ask that he/she votes “YES” when the bill comes to the Senate floor for a vote. Thrasher's office told a constituent that this bill was going to be looked at again on the 14th. Why did this bill NOT go back to the House once the ammendment from Miquel De La Tortilla was introduced? I understand that there was some dispute between reps. WHY does this bill have to wait? Can we pressure to vote on it? It was on Special order calender and should have been voted on today.
